Well I'm not the one posting under another alias. Cowardly and shady. Kinda hilarious too!
It's very heartening that you recognise yourself in this post, that indicates that it has a high degree of accuracy.
Not Tom btw, so i'll sit here laughing at you like those two, while you go through the plethora of people you piss off, just another person who doesn't like the way you operate. Shady.
Hi Tom/Rocinante! Still got an axe to grind! Wouldn't be drama without the sites own drama queen!
Actually criticism is very welcome. I call it debate. It lets me know other people’s points of view, whether I have misjudged something or someone or a situation. It also tells me so much more about the critic themselves!
I 100% concur.

Hi ALF. I am referring to the general trend of long term members here on NAS. Being articulate and able to do things doesn’t preclude one from having ASD by any means. You are right.
However to be honest I find a lack of support on this forum for those less articulate and/or less affluent. There are plenty of articulate autists who do want to help others and support those not so well endowed (for want of a better word).
For example, a member who became homeless was almost totally ignored. That’s just one of many examples I have observed.
IF this initiative wants to help and support the less able to achieve their potential, maybe even into employment, then I would be happy to join. If it’s about me, me me and what’s in it for ME, then it’s not my cup of tea either. I’ve found that here, unfortunately. It’s modern life and modern attitudes, not autism to blame. The majority of ALL humans are just self interested.
ASD or not, we are the same cross section of society. I’ll creep off now into obscurity.
The Community Rules are here: https://community.autism.org.uk/p/rules.
I think Rule 7 is maybe the one that NAS51498 is referring to. Currently this thread doesn't appear to be breaking rule 7 but the Moderators will be checking future posts.

Kerri-Mod
Whilst on the whole i would agree with much of the sentiment expressed in your post, you choose some interesting generalisations to attempt to denigrate respondents with.
I didn't realise being articulate and intelligent precludes one from having ASD.
Thanks.
Hey no worries.
And of course I am generalising. Particularly about longer term members here really. I can understand your concerns and do have my own about this initiative, but I have to choice to join or not.
Nothing personal against you, 51498. Sorry if it came across that way. I am guilty of saying what I see. Blunt as a barrel, I’m afraid.
I was not aware of having any payments to make or signing any constitution. It is just an online social group isn't it??
And doesn't seem to have much activity; there has been more written on this post here than in the entire Slack group for this subject.
But then we Aspies often totally miss the point on these sort of matters and so we get taken in by scams and all sorts of things which others would be suspicious of.
Can anyone tell me the risks of joining the other group?? And the benefits? What can the other group do that this forum does not do??
I'm not denigrating the initiative. I was innocently asking if it is breaking the rules of this forum and airing some legitimate concerns.
Make of it what you like. Shoot me down in flames for that at will.
Tinyexplorer, you won’t find anyone who is interested in the welfare of others, particularly those worse off, sticking around long on this site. They are mostly self interested in their own financial etc situations. They are mostly very articulate and able. See how they will argue with my assessment of them.
Those of us with an interest in actually helping each other meet elsewhere. Just because we all think or know we are autistic doesn’t mean we share priorities and views.
