I have had the same hairstyle since I was a child

I've had the same hair for the last few years because the idea of going to a hairdresser scares me. And if I was able to overcome that, I'd have to do it all again a few weeks later. 

So my hair is just plain and down to my belly button. 

Her first group were called the Springfields, she was schooled by nuns which she found very hard. People often thought her behaviour was odd, she would self harm, have depression and alcoholism.  Later in life she was diagnosed as bipolar, she eventually ‘came out’ as gay and married her partner. I personally think she was autistic, some of her ‘odd’ behaviour was typical autistic behaviour.  On a more cheery note, I did love the song she did with The Pet Shop Boys. She was one of the few ‘note perfect’ singers.

Dusty is an interesting woman and should be talked about. Thank you for the info dump. I didn't know Dusty Springfield wasn't her real name. You learn something new every day.

Same I do all my styling from the safety of my own home. Hairdressers is a meltdown in less than thirty seconds...

Why did you have to mention Dusty? She has been one of my ‘special interests’ and led to hours of research. I now have facts about her whizzing around my head. ( real name Mary O’Brien) sorry.

I have had the same hairstyle for more than 30 years and I don't plan on changing it.

I haven't been near a hairdressers in all that time. The fake small talk, the mirrors, being touched, the noise of hairdryers, having someone standing too close, etc 

Just make sure The Borg don’t make you part of The Collective, the Dusty hair will be no more.

My Dad used to say that God only made a few perfect heads and the rest he covered with hair.

I’ve had the same person cut my hair for more that 30 years, grade 2 around the sides and back, slightly longer on top. The conversation is just, “usual?” I answer,”yes”. Hair length that gets in my eyes is intolerable. I call the natural grey and white highlights in my hair erotic silver!

Totally. As soon as I left home I got mine shaved down to 9mm. It's been the same since around 1999. My mother made me have female styles - I mean she probably hadn't even heard of being trans back then. Plus 9mm is the perfect length of stimming (rubbing the hair at the back of my head feels perfect straight after I get the clippers out)

I still have a full head of hair, I'm very lucky as my families hairline is exceedingly hairless. Apparently I take after my grandfather on my mother's side who was lucky and kept his hair.

I have a little too much hair though. It's quite out of control these days but I simply refuse to go to the barbers.

I think that's what happened with me as well I was frightened of looking like my mum and because she was originally in charge of my hair because I was too young I instantly hated it every time it was cut. It probably looked good at the time I just couldn't see it. Lol.

One life so you have to do what you want and have fun. I think I'll end up with short hair eventually, or no hair as mine falls out because of anxiety. Lol.

I've had the same hair style for years. Shoulder length. It works for me, it's not too little of too much, it's just right for me. It's white, an unfortunate complication but I like it as it makes me think of snow. ️

As have I, Ben. My husband said I now remind him of Patrick Stewart, I assume this is a compliment.
