Games that are good for autistics and other nuerodivergents

This is just an idea I've been thinking about for a long time, but I often feel like there are video games that innately appeal to autistics and other nuerodivergents due to the gameplay providing a form of positive mental stimulation to certain synapses relating to puzzling, logic, or just fun. Mostly RPGs and perhaps a couple fighting games I feel fall into these categories. I also just love it when games have hidden mechanics or secret little tricks you can use (I.E. Super Smash Bros. Melee with L-Cancelling and Wave Dashing) which I think can be attributed to my autism.

  • I bought this one yesterday.  I love it, especially tetris. I don't need colorful screen effects etc. The b/w monochromatic screen is best, sounds off and fun.

  • Oh this is a great thread.

I've recently bought a second hand Nintendo switch. I’m new to gaming so I bought Super Mario cart to go with it.

I’ve tried to research a bit more about the games but I still can’t come up with a definitive answer. The games are so expensive even second hand so some ideas would be good.Blush

  • I played Split Fiction with my brother - it was a easy story line to follow, clear where to go, not too many buttons to press but it has elements of puzzles and some fighting involved! (Its good because if one of you is struggling to get somewhere when running to and from places, it teleports you too where the other person is!)

I loved playing, I wish they did a game similar but for one player I'd give it a go!

Stardew Valley is another game which is good, as you can take your time doing things and don't have to rush to complete it!

I find Minecraft good for having fun and creating different areas to decorate etc - I'm not too keen on the monster side but my brother is okay with it in peaceful or easy (I find easy difficult for monsters haha)
