Games that are good for autistics and other nuerodivergents

This is just an idea I've been thinking about for a long time, but I often feel like there are video games that innately appeal to autistics and other nuerodivergents due to the gameplay providing a form of positive mental stimulation to certain synapses relating to puzzling, logic, or just fun. Mostly RPGs and perhaps a couple fighting games I feel fall into these categories. I also just love it when games have hidden mechanics or secret little tricks you can use (I.E. Super Smash Bros. Melee with L-Cancelling and Wave Dashing) which I think can be attributed to my autism.

  • I really like cozy games that don’t have an ending like animal crossing and at the moment I’m really into hello kitty island adventure. I find these games very relaxing and help me be in a more positive mood due to a variety of things like: dialogue, story, music, character designs and game colours. I find they are a good mix between stimulating and relaxing as there’s stuff to do but not loads. I especially love how vast hello kitty island adventure is and how many things there are to do. But there’s no rush to do anything and you can sort of pick and choose what you wanna do

  • You'd like Hedgies on Facebook then. It's a take your time game and build up at your own pace and it's never ending. I've been playing it now for at least 5 or 6 years.
