Games that are good for autistics and other nuerodivergents

This is just an idea I've been thinking about for a long time, but I often feel like there are video games that innately appeal to autistics and other nuerodivergents due to the gameplay providing a form of positive mental stimulation to certain synapses relating to puzzling, logic, or just fun. Mostly RPGs and perhaps a couple fighting games I feel fall into these categories. I also just love it when games have hidden mechanics or secret little tricks you can use (I.E. Super Smash Bros. Melee with L-Cancelling and Wave Dashing) which I think can be attributed to my autism.

  • Games related to our special interests.  Pokemon games seem to be very popular.  I remember being lucky enough to find Austin Powers Pinball for the Playstation One in the early 2000s.  Final Fantasy games are also very popular with the autistic population.

  • Oh, yes! I love the Final Fantasy series, especially Final Fantasy X!

I feel like a really good Pokemon alternative is the Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Star Force series. It has a faster paced and more tactical style of combat while still offering than same competitive collecting element, including having different versions of the same game with exclusive content to said versions
