Do you have any fav quotes? Feel free to share them here
I love quotes! Some can be really inspiring and life changing.
Here's one of my favs I try to live my life by
"If you look to others for fulfillment, you will never be fulfilled. If your happiness depends on money, you will never be happy with yourself. Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the world belongs to you." — Lao Tzu.
Wow, that's beautiful.
I have just realised, that I do tend to quote from Star Trek a lot:
, "Live Long and Prosper"
"You canny change the laws of physic's",
"highly illogical",
"lets see what's out there" ,
"beam me up"
I have always meant to take time and memorise some quotes, such as from Shakespeare and F. Scott Fitzgerald so I can go around quoting them. But I have never gotten round to it.
I guess for me it is song lyrics that I have in my head that I can quote. Today as it is such a nice day, although we are not in April, I am inspired to quote this quote: from the Song "April in Paris" . I love songs, I like the romance of a good song
Gan – 'Can’t find ORAC. I even tried calling his name.'
Avon – 'I’m sorry I missed that. It’s the kind of natural stupidity no amount of training could ever hope to match.'
------------------------------
Vila: 'Avon, this is stupid'
Avon: 'When did that ever stop us? [pause] Fire!'
One of the best season-ending cliffangers in telly history.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And of course, the legend that is one of his final lines...
Blake's 7 is very quotable:
Vila: "Where are all the good guys?"Blake: "You may be looking at them."Avon: "What a depressing thought."
Also, Avon may be the coolest character ever, especially as performed by Paul Darrow. Sorry, Doctor, I love you to death, but you are part-time cool at best.
KBO.
Love that whole speech. Especially all the preamble where he's just flexing his intellectual muscles:
"What's it going to be like? Paint me a picture. Are you going to live in houses? Do you want people to go to work? Will there be holidays? Oh! Will there be music? Do you think people will be allowed to play violins? Who's going to make the violins? "
My joint-favourite season that one, of the modern run I mean.
Those with power act to the benefit of those who keep them in their position of power.
Touays condensed quote of an idea by Bruce Bueno de Mesquita.
Such an inspiring man!
TBF Doctor Who has some of the best quotes ever!
You can learn a lot from that series :)
Like this.
Oh dear, most of mine would be Doctor Who ones as they're the only ones I seem capable of holding on to. So perhaps not, as I bang on about it enough. Actually there are some others I'm sure from books and films and the like, but oddly unless a specific situation prompts them, they lurk shyly just out of reach at the back of what passes for a mind in my case.
Ooo good one!
"Be curious not judgemental" - Walt Whitman (via Ted Lasso)

Fruit flies like a banana.
