Here's one of my favs I try to live my life by
"If you look to others for fulfillment, you will never be fulfilled. If your happiness depends on money, you will never be happy with yourself. Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the world belongs to you." — Lao Tzu.
Come back to us soon, if and when you can, Princess. You will be missed. x

Hits home this quote.
I'll be moving on from the forum today, not that that's a huge loss as I'm not a regular or really an important member but I wanted to say thanks to you guys for all the times you talked to me and made me smile.
"It's said that science will dehumanise people and turn them into numbers. That's false, tragically false. Look for yourself. This is the concentration camp and crematorium at Auschwitz. This is where people were turned into numbers.
Into this pond were flushed the ashes of some four million people. And that was not done by gas. It was done by arrogance, it was done by dogma, it was done by ignorance. When people believe that they have absolute knowledge, with no test in reality, this is how they behave. This is what men do when they aspire to the knowledge of gods.
Science is a very human form of knowledge. We are always at the brink of the known; we always feel forward for what is to be hoped. Every judgment in science stands on the edge of error and is personal. Science is a tribute to what we can know although we are fallible. In the end, the words were said by Oliver Cromwell: "I beseech you in the bowels of Christ: Think it possible you may be mistaken."
I owe it as a scientist to my friend Leo Szilard, I owe it as a human being to the many members of my family who died here, to stand here as a survivor and a witness. We have to cure ourselves of the itch for absolute knowledge and power. We have to close the distance between the push-button order and the human act. We have to touch people."
(Professor Jacob Bronowski, The Ascent of Man, 1975)

“Always be yourself, there's no one better!” - Selena Gomez.
The world will knock you down plenty. You don't need to be doing it to yourself. ~ Elizabeth Scott
Things end. People leave. And you know what? Life goes on. Besides, if bad things didn't happen, how would you be able to feel the good ones? ~ Elizabeth Scott
Don't hate the Player, hate the Game!
"Always borrow money from a pessimist, he won't expect it back."
Oscar Wilde

Is that a new suit you're wearing? Why, it's sharper than a page of Oscar Wilde witticisms that have been rolled up into a point, sprinkled with lemon juice and jabbed into someone's eye.
"Be yourself, everyone else is already taken."
"unless they are paying your bills, pay them bit**es no mind". MamaRu
Shardovan said:and I nearly said I loved him."
Those few words are so moving, say so much ...
I have a head full of quotes, lots of Shakespeare I had to learn for 'A' Level English Lit, but also poetry that just stays in my head.
So, this is part of a poem by Branwell Bronte that is true, but also poignant, as he died at 31.
'So seize we the present, And gather its flowers, For – mournful or pleasant – ‘Tis all that is ours; While daylight we’re wasting. The evening is hasting, And night follows fast on vanishing hours.'
"Life's a slippery slope / regret's the steepest hill
Hope for the best, plan for the worst and maybe wind up somewhere in the middle"
from Bright Eyes - Loose Leaves
"Why fit in when you were born to stand out!" Dr Suss
I love this quote.
'Conformity is the last refuge of the unimaginitive.'
(Oscar Wilde)
