Are there any shows that are helping you get through the strange days we're living through?
I like those reality competitions e.g. the Bake Off, Sewing Bee, Best Home Cook, Pottery Throwdown etc. And things like Bridgerton and Winx, which are total fantasy escapes from reality.
I also remembered Detectorists. Does anyone watch that? A nice, subtle series with nothing horrible happening.
Probably doctor who
The Office US is my favourite show of all time! It helped me get through the second lockdown so much.
My wife loves it too, I introduced her to it
I like music from Mandalorian even more
yea staged is brillant i have watched both series twice
The Mandalorian was good as well
Hi here are some recommendations!!
I love The Office, the American version.
I find it very comforting as most of the charachters are quite unique and eccentric in their own way and although they argue they all kind of accept each other
I wish the real world could be more like Dunder Mifflin!
Here are some of my favourites: IT Crowd, Young Justice, Avatar Last Airbender and LOK, Family Guy, Rick and Morty, Sherlock and Blackadder.
Documentaries: Air Crash Investigations, Forensic Files and Andrew Marr History of Modern Britain.
Great British Bake Off and Philip Pullman's Dark Materials (but I don't have a TV license so I can't legally watch it on BBC iplayer any more )
I really enjoy the "On the buses ", series, every morning on Freeview. It may be 50 years old, but good quality situation comedy never ages.
The really tragic connection is that my cousin took his own life almost 50 years ago because he was turned down for a job as a bus driver, what a waste.
Travis was a sworn enemy of Blake because Blake had blinded him in one eye, in a previous encounter.
Oh right, I was more interested in Avon and wasn't there a henchman called Travis or something? Or am I getting mixed up with some other show.
I think most people do, tbh. That's why the misfit heroes like the X Men are so popular.
And Strictly just started again, yay!
I've always liked the anti-hero type, for some reason.
The misunderstood outsider.
Possibly because it's a bit too close to home...
It sort of rings a bell.
My memory for details in books, movies, tv shows etc often gets mixed up, and I only remember snippets.
But the vibe of that show was great. I think the production quality, or lack of, of that era is what made it.
Yes, Servalan had the short hair. At the time, the Sun newspaper carried out a certain survey of teenage schoolboys and Servalan came out top.
Oh yes, Avon was the favourite of me and my mum. Not sure why now, he's cold and calculating isn't he. I think he was everyone's favourite because just occasionally he helped someone out. Blake was too much of a goody goody.
Was Servalan the woman with very short brown hair?
I remember the speed chess! Was it where Vila challenged the master chess player and Avon had to rescue him?
The one I remember was where they were running over a grid or something and if they didn't run fast enough they got electrocuted.
I really really wish they would remake it with a bigger budget and better storylines. It's surely time to do that...
Oh yes, it terrified me. I didn't watch many episodes. Do you remember the one with the WWI soldier who kept singing Pack Up Your Troubles In Your Old Kit Bag? That gave me the willies.
