Some love being autistic, I personally feel neutral about it most of the time and sometimes negative.
Here you can share your struggles and dislike for autism.
I'm gonna share too, though I'm sleep deprived right now and might seem drunk lol.
I wish I was not different on so many levels including autism. I wish I had friends or liked socializing. I wish I didn't struggle with lying and such. I wish people would stop telling me I'm rude or I should smile or whatever, I haven't hurt anyone by my face, leave me be! I wish I didn't have autism inertia and could be more in sync with the world. Wish I didn't get tired so easily.
Guess that's it for now, huh?
Also, wanted to say that just the act of sharing and being listened to has helped me multiple times on this website, sharing things I had never shared, so thank you!
Yes I understand that.
Yeah, I rarely get to fully focus on the conversation, there's always something else going on, reducing the quality of our communication.

Yes particularly when we are hyper focused or in a monotropic flow, everything else that exists just fades away.
I wonder how allistics enjoy their hobbies/interests then. I never thought I experience enjoyment in a different way too.
lol, as I was typing this, a classmate talked to me and I didn't hear/understand anything and just nodded and made noise. Is not hearing people common in autistics too? I always feel I'm missing opportunity for connection.
Sometimes, when trying to co-mingle, it will fail if it's the wrong venue, wrong people, or it will be a blast if it's right venue on with the right people.
Suffice to say I would not trade the joy and happiness, the 'zone' of total absorption I feel when I'm immersed in the seas of special interests and my very unique mind and body. I am as I am and I celebrate it. I will get social situations wrong, I sometimes get them right but I always feel good about my self.
Yes, I think this is true for some people, though others are just not interested in learning about autism. Before I knew I was autistic, I was pretty indifferent about autism too.

Quote of the day...
Although recently I have seen millions of people get it badly wrong on some issues, and a tiny minority be right, but that doesn't happen very often.
More than it should though historically speaking , cough, National Socialism, The Bolsheviks, Ukraine, Anything made by Apple... (O.K. The last example is a personal axe to grind, added to lighten the mood and probably not as strong as the others...)
That’s ok.
We’re going to have to agree disagree AA.
To take just one example - my auditory sensitivity is clearly a disorder that negatively affects my life and it absolutely isn’t anyone’s fault.

Well that's good to read, Cosmo.
After waiting 67 years to get the correct label, I love knowing that I am autistic and only wish I'd known when I was much much younger.
Honestly, just knowing brings so much relief, it explains so many of the difficulties I have encountered, endured, put-up with and suffered in silence. Now, at last, my great conundrum has been solved and I know and understand just who I am....... I am Ben.
Yes I understand that but language shapes perceptions! Similarly there is no limit when it comes to learning particularly about our own autistic neurology!

We are already educated.
As previously discussed, this isn't a right or wrong situation.
Terminology belongs to our own personal perceptions.
We can all educate each other though!

Once again that's your choice.
Your choice.
Our choice.
Not to be corrected as though we are in a classroom.
No, it’s literally our brains. The only reason why you would use condition is if you are still stuck in the pathology paradigm.
No one can separate our brains from us!
So is condition - ASC
It’s actually a fact.
Yes I get that.
I struggled to choose a word here that everyone else could agree with, but the main point is people might feel they’re prying.

That's your choice but it's up to the individual which (correct) terms they use.
