I started keeping a list of some of my quirks because I find them amusing so I thought I'd share some of mine, you can add your own ones to the thread below if you feel like it:
- I can't touch hangers - they freak me out.
- certain kinds of pasta are WRONG.
- particular bowls in my kitchen are for specific things (pasta, cereal) and cannot be mixed up.
- I haven't worn underwear since the pandemic.
I always try to be prepared. It was useful I didn't have to buy a lot.
Same for me.
I say (mostly in my head) certain words or phrases when I'm doing some things. Like my house keys are on an astronaut keyring so when I'm checking that I have them (after coming in or going out the front door mostly) I'll feel for their outline in my pocket and say "spacegirl... and her key". Or before I go to bed when I'm checking that everything is turned off and where it should be I do "that's off, that's off, that's off, stuff is up there, remotes and controllers, that's off".
I also don't leave the house for more than an hour without enough water and snacks and medication to last a day if something goes wrong (like if I get hit by a car and taken to hospital or trapped in a lift for hours, I'll be okay physically at least).
-I horde supplies.
-Always eat at the same time each day.
-Buy the same foods and drinks.
-Wear leather gloves in and out the house. Have dinner since I was in my teens.

Yep, me too. If I need or like something I have a compulsion to horde it.
I'm old enough to have had to deal with actual physical maps and having to ask people where things are, I much prefer now with a phone that does everything.
Yep to the matching pegs, and rather annoyingly my peg basket came with mixed colours, so I have to use all the colours in order, i.e. pink, grey, light blue, dark blue. If there's one of a colour left I have to take it out of the basket before I can move onto the next colour.
I do this too! So I know what shops or landmarks to look for. My ideal situation though, in a new city, is just to hail a cab and get them to take me where I want. Then I don't have to worry about directions :)
I use Google Maps to plan out going to unfamiliar places, both from the side of sorting out the route, but also to look at Street View so it's not completely unfamiliar to me.
Wow you sound like you're prepared for anything! That must have been so handy during covid.
I also have a nothing on the floor rule.
I do the week planning too - makes me feel a bit less anxious.
I'm the same with Google maps, I'd hate to get lost somewhere so I try and memorise as much as I can.
There's nothing better than finding a nice short cut using the back roads, love it.
I horde things I buy - soup, bottles of water, toilet paper, batteries. I did this before Covid and didn't run out of anything during the height of the pandemic.
I never touch anything outside of my house with my hands. I always use tissues and then bin them.
I have three glasses of water a day. One in the morning. One after lunch and one after tea.
I bath every day at 7pm.
In no particular order. I hang clothes out with matching pegs. Anything that goes on the floor has to be washed. I get up at 7.20 every day. I don't open my curtains. Avoid right turns into main roads when planning a journey. I could go on and on ....
I time-plan the week ahead, every Sunday.
I obsess about using back roads to certain areas.
I obsessively look at Google Maps, when bored.
