Is anyone else's sleep really horrible right now?
my sleep patterns used to be terrible, but I started taking medicine around the 3rd, maybe the 4th grade. I take abilify for sleep & sertraline for my behavior /mood. Anyways, the only thing I have trouble with is waking up early/staying asleep.
Here's one solution, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dip2_iUwCnk the good thing is that when you want to leave it's easy to remove and just needs a wash and no damage done and no nasty sticky glue.
Mirrors really are floor to ceiling. Cannot put bedsheets over them.
I have tried moving my bed around. Now I have my back to the mirrors so I can't see them.
Can you put bed sheets over the mirrors? You could also purchase sticky back paper coverings which can be removed quite easily when you move home.
There is a lot of folklore and myth surrounding mirrors.
I've started taking melatonin tablets, and even after four days, I'm falling asleep faster and for longer. It may take a few weeks to synchronise my internal clock with the natural day/night cycle, but already I am seeing some positive changes.
Hey, Lone Wolf. I've started taking melatonin tablets, and even after four days, I'm falling asleep faster and for longer. It may take a few weeks to synchronise my internal clock with the natural day/night cycle, but already I am seeing some positive changes.
Yes, yes, and yes. But it could be that I'm unwell and it's negatively impacting my sleep somehow, even though the only thing I want to do it sleep.
Put lavender drops yesterday evening on my pillow. Slept four hours.
Another reason for my lack of sleep. I will accept ridicule.
I live in a rented flat and one whole wall in my bedroom is a fitted wardrobe that has floor to ceiling sliding doors which are mirrors.
I have been told that mirrors have magical properties which can a negative effects on one's sleep. Two women have ( one Spanish, the other Russian) independently told me that sleeping with mirrors is !!!!????.
Their reasoning is that medieval folklore is full of stories about mirrors, such as 'mirror mirror on the wall' etc. And in many cultures when someone dies, mirrors are all covered in black clothes.
So the large mirrors are affecting my sleep.
Another thing that stops me from sleeping is thought. I am retired now but when I was working I would rarely sleep much on Sunday night's rehearsing conversations for the following day, thinking about what tasks I would have, how to walk to the office etc. But even thinking about going for a planned walk, thinking about making a phone call to order my medication, anything! It was certainly better under lockdown because there was no going out, first lockdown not even for a walk. Nothing to anticipate, I slept so much better.
Don't you get sore throats and cold with being exposed to that whilst you sleep?
I don't take probiotics but I do have full fat Greek style yogurt with breakfast and before bed. Low fat yogurt doesn't help but the fat in the full fat helps protect the bacteria to actually get into the gut, well that's the theory and it does seem to. Tastes very nice too, especially with honey, but being diabetic and trying to loose weight I do without the honey. When I don't have yogurt my poo floats, when I do have it it goes away in one flush. Too much detail but we're all friends here.
Same with me about going straight back, apart from if brain is buzzing with thoughts.
What was the thyroid support supplement?
I took Magnesium Threonate once, after recomendations from online, made me seizurey and stopped after about a week. Citrate,no problem.
Yes,chewable one's from H&B.
I wake multiple times, mostly go straight back to sleep but sometimes my brain is buzzing with thoughts (edited) when it takes me ages to quiet them and settle down back to sleep
Between 3-5am is most times i wake, but mostly go back to sleep,if near 5 listen to LBC on headphones, that puts me to sleep! Lol
