I'm not sure if anyone will be interested in this but I thought I'd give it a go.
It's an offshoot of the photography thread.
So, the challenge is to think of a painting that you would like to replicate by any art method including photographically and then post both here.
Autonomistic You have posted a Van Gogh look alike but I won't post it here on your behalf.
Here's mine:

I've always been more of a shutterbug than an artist, but this seems like such a fun way to push my creative boundaries. Kudos for coming up with this idea! I've got this painting in mind - a serene countryside landscape with rolling hills and a charming little cottage tucked away. Now, I'm not the best with a paintbrush, but I'm determined to give it a shot. And if my artistic skills fail me, I might just resort to my trusty camera to capture a scene that comes close. I saw Autonomistic's Van Gogh-inspired piece – what a cool take! Really digging the online [link removed by mod] stores, especially the ones in Dubai. They've got this unique vibe that adds so much character to any space.

Adding to the Vincent Van Gogh collection. A little piece of art, sunflowers, without a vase
I would have loved it if Mr Van Gogh had done a field of sunflowers
That's a lovely picture. I'm always fascinated by the straight lines through crop fields and the patterns they make. I wonder what Van Gogh would have made of them. Some of his paintings depict a solitary reaper with a scythe.
I have a similar picture where the lines lead away in two directions.

Interestingly, I said the same earlier, and Autonomistic has posted a link to an article which expounds on the idea.
Thanks, I like it. I got soaked shortly after taking it but it was worth it
Yes such a remarkable man, tragic life but intriguing with it. I would like to have known him, I think he would have been an interesting person. He had a compulsion to paint the same things - perhaps ASD?
I think that regularly, would love to have known for sure.

Lovely.
Very atmospheric.
I'm glad you are a fan too.
Yes, his life story is a very sad one

I like your picture, I have a similar one though your sky looked more angry than mine.
Well done, that's a very good likeness.
Thank you
It's a great photo, very impressive sky..
It's a beautiful song...
Yes, and now it's going to be running through my head too!
Keeping to the Van Gogh theme (I so love his art, and always have) this is a recent wheat field photo.
I probably have some somewhere that are more akin to his, but here is my offering for today.
Thank you everyone for joining in, this is great fun.
Stunning.
And, of course, this is now running through my head:

(Don McLean - Vincent, Starry, starry night).
Continuing the Van Gogh Theme... Starry Night Over the Rhone...
And.. Starry Night Over the Eden!
With added stars!
Thanks, I'll be sure to check those out when I can. I actually can't access a lot of pages, it comes up with a message "Oops well that didn't work!", including my own thread I made. This one is the exception, so far....
It might be because I'm a Newbie. I'll try to add more to the threads later on, if I'm allowed.
Wonderful.
Thank you.
It's a photo with an 'art' filter on top.
You may have already seen the 'photography' thread.
There are these 2 as well (as you have lots of pictures of wildlife, as do I)

Enjoy
I like your picture. Stags are beautiful animals. I was lucky enough to be working in an animal centre from 2013-2017 and got to watch Stags in their natural world regularly.
This is my attempt, admittedly it is lacking the mountains in the background but I'm submitting it anyway.
Oh, I like this thread. What an impressive remake of a famous painting, Debbie. I like to dabble in art, but I'm not very artistic like that. I am handy with a camera though and have thousands of pictures of different wildlife.
Lovely photos.
Really nice idea.
I don't think I have any stags nearby so I won't be able to join in.
I checked some old ones from Richmond Park but they are poor quality.
However, there's always a chance, as there's no time limit.
