This a thread for a people who are still awake at night and feeling lonely. You can chat here.
many here have been saying so - the heat. I hope ti abates for you!
Here is is ..not hot.
can yo ucool off?
defo very hot here in uk tonight, need air con installing in my room !
Mid afternoon for me. soon I will crack open Japanese vocabulary. did study all week - hinges a bit rusty! Checking in with the night birds first.
just arrived.. what's up if no sleep?
Tonight it is too hot to sleep in the uk. Anyone else here?
I did and even got inspired to start a discussion topic with pictures of meals. i think best with pictures. I think I saw you there this just now.
A couple of times I have studied online distance learning courses via University continuing adult education departments.
The courses attracted a student cohort drawn from around the World. That was a bonus as, whatever time of day, there were often a few other students awake and logged into the couse portal.
The key is to avoid the ones scheduled over MS Teams etc. (as they require fixed time login). Instead, the type to which I refer use a portal, perhaps with chatboard breakout rooms per course unit / common room etc. which are accessed via an online portal / platform (where you study to a schedule, but at your own pace within each week to suit your timezone / night owl situation).
I would consdier enrolment on another such course at some future point.
What do you think mellowjian?
is this helping at all?
I better get to have a shower the bed - not had much time for sleep this week with all the work I'm doing to help a friend out.
I hope you enjoyed your lunch.

That probably explains why there are rare times when I meet someone new and I get that feeling of "I know you" even though our paths have never crossed.
The connection feels real, just not definable.
I like this discussion very much. we are the midnight club! I'm off to store. Tucking you all in .. there, there. Leaving the door open a crack...
indeed, you have hit the mark. We are ever evolving beings on a sojourn. It is without end or beginning. We meet again and again.
this link above is the rest of the noble truths this is a good source for good plain English. Dahai lama has a good book on the subject.
here's something:

the perfect late night musing medium.
Life is painful.
"Existence is suffering" is the common translation of the First Noble Truth of Buddhism.

Deep!
If this is the case then I guess we should take more care to look after those around us who are struggling if we can - we never know when we may be the ones in need of that same help.
I think what changes and evolves is the eternal soul that shares these succession of bodies we use for the adventure. So it's a long game. It for a penny...
Some great lines in it.
