Imagine no restrictions of: budget, access to the shops, freezer space, other people's tastes or judgements (nor any other practical considerations such as storage durations).
If you had your dream freezer - what food or drink items would you love to magically discover when you next opened your freezer door?
A few categories to set the scene:
An indulgence of one's own: cider ice lollies (once bought with an elderly relative from the ice cream van in a distant much loved park).
A treat to share with a loved one: a homemade "emergency" loaf to ensure you can always share a toast breakfast together (without anyone needing to make a loaf or purchase one from a shop).
Something ready to entertain impromptu company: homegrown fruity chilli peppers (an easy homemade bowl of warming chilli may be vegan, vegetarian or con carne).
A comfort food: petit pois peas (revive a childhood meal or explore a new recipe).
The promise of a day trip: items of your favourite picnic foods (maybe a homemade pate and garlic bread?).
Luxury item: dried barberries (transform mere basmati rice into a beloved dish).
I hope you daydream of a magic (eat without repercussions) fridge instead.
In one country where we had a huge American freezer, it included an automatic ice cube machine which produced ice pieces roughly the size and shape of individual orange segments (I had forgotten how decadent that always seemed in such a hot and humid terrain).
nope: pesto and tomato together.... I can't see it.
As you posted this, the other person I live with is making us homemade pizza.
Ray's version sounds delicious but no tomato!
I can picture that - many wonderful dishes.
I think it would be finding the contents of my Indian daughter in laws freezer had magicked it's way into mine, along with a load of bread and dips from her fridge to mine!
pesto pizza ala Rays pizza in NYC.
layers:
base - any pizza dough base
1 - olive oil
2 - pesto generously schmeared all over, same as if it were marinara sauce.
3 - shredded Romano cheese sprinkled all over top - not too thick.
4 - dollop of ricotta cheese where each slice will be.
5 - cook usual way.
6 - abondanza! prego.
I ate this at least once a week when I passed the joint, walking cross town on Prince to Elizabeth, when I lived in NY in my 2/30s. I later learned i was allergic to the cow milk, the wheat and the nuts.. I am so much healthier now but I think fondly of the happy place a slice of Rays pesto pizza provided my mouth.
As it's a dream, I'm pretending that the things I choose won't make me fat or give me.IBS, and some can be things you can't actually buy from the frozen food section:
Chinese food exactly like you get from a takeaway
Pizzas exactly like those from Dominoes
Cornetto type ice creams
Belgian cream buns
I WISH I DID. Then none would go to waste!
Do you have a pesto fetish?
Ice cube trays filled with leftover pesto.
This was actually a brain wave I had this morning and could also be posted on Sparkly's / Shardovan's ideas / "hacks" thread.

Mine has baskets, so I know where everything is - if it just a cavernous space I would hate it.
I need mine, not having easy shop access.

You took that thought out of my head and put it on paper (well, almost paper).
I couldn't answer this as all the things I'd want I couldn't eat.
Also, I don't like freezers - they confuse me.
I prefer fridges.
Good idea for a thread though.
If it was magic, I'd fill it with all the things that cause me issues to eat, in the hope that the magic wouldn't let them bother me.
Family in the USA had a huge freezer set to -27 which meant they could keep stuff for a really long time.
