Do you use any of these?
The only one I consciously use is 'so' at the beginning of sentences.
1. Going forward
2. No disrespect, but…
3. 'like' as a filler
4. I wanted to reach out
5. I'm not gonna lie
6. Basically
7. Let's go offline
8. 'So' at the start of a sentence
9. The 'optics' of something
10. My bad
Yes, so often I forget the word I need mid sentence.
I'll be glad to see the back of them although 8 is one I overuse.
My grandparents regularly go on a rant every time they hear someone on the TV started a sentence with "so..." - I didn't know it bothered other people besides them haha!
It annoys me when people say "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less" - It doesn't make sense!
Another one I've noticed recently is people saying "all the sudden" instead of "all of a sudden"
And of course people saying "literally" when they don't actually mean what they're saying literally.
Yep that's me as well. Um is my go to word to really make a conversation worse.
So and basically are my top words here that I use on a daily basis and often together in the same sentence.
I'm the same on the phone Roy. Even if I preplanned the call it's still full of umms on my end lol XD
I thought it was just my end. Glad to know we're all on x1 speed tonight lol
It really is though! xD
It is what it is! .
" now then, now then"
Oh thank goodness I thought it was because I'm VPN-ing through Brazil.
In case anyone is wondering if it's just their connection, this forum is moving like a snail with arthritis tonight
For me it's "aha" sometimes "aha aha"
It's illegal to add on extra numbers ..
Hehe I start talking with "well" too
Therefore is one of my favourites in written text too
I'm adding "soooo good" as number 11. Usually when people talk about food. I know language evolves as phrases become more common but I absolutely hate it.
Number 12. "Can I get...."
"Can I get a flat white?"
"No you aren't allowed behind the counter."
I say umm quite a lot, it’s worse if I have to use a telephone, I had someone actually point the fact out to me, bless them!
”All my days” and “innit” drive me insane, also “ at the end of the day”
