Rule 4 - Be Nice

Racism was allowed on here for a while also.

I think i tend towards free speech absolutism as this will protect the rights of the vulnerable to speak and help us in the long run.

I’ve generally read “free speech absolutism” as short hand for the alt right, Trump obsessed, Q-Anon vitriol directed at everyone who non-conforms to their religion based stereotypes, are you going to disprove me?

Well i'm none of those things.  I would say that the position is extremely Libertarian.  And of course there are Libertarians on the Left as well as the Right.

Now you are back from your two year sabbatical, I hope you really did learn not to express open hatred for someone's point of view, and try to have them excluded, as your post would suggest you have learned.

You never expressed any remorse, or offered an apology, in the two years since that happened so who knows?

It seems that a small group of very strident people think they have special rights and must be treated with the utmost respect whilst they reserve the right to pillory anyone else who does not fit their fantastic world view.

Also the way some people on here can take two unrelated premices and just form whatever conclusion conveniently fits their bias world view is astounding.

the government and rich elite are a minority group though.

we call the rich the top 1% or something.... thats a minority... if free speech cant be used against minorities then the rich elite are protected.

They shouldn't have to set up their own communities as they are a part of this one. Everyone with Autism should feel welcome here.

Yep, that's exactly what many people with niche interests do. 

They set up their own servers to discuss their own niche interests, rather than trying to bend other peoples communities to suit their own special requirements.

My view has a lot of grey area and overlap it isn't going to be the exact same form of liberatarianism as other people, so I understand if you cannot see my point of view but respectfully I stand by what I said about the rules. People agree to them when they sign up and cannot be allowed to just opt out of them afterwards unless they leave the site that's why these things are usually included as part of the terms of service/use/membership/delete as applicable.

Repressing hate by driving it underground is counter productive.  As people can still think what they like but as it is no longer being expressed openly, it is no longer being challenged.  I don't think you understand what i mean by Libertarian either. There is nothing centrist about my views and nothing pro-market or pro private interest about them.

It's true, I myself am a centre left libertarian, for example I don't think it should be so that people can be punished by green tax when going into cities, not everyone wants one of these ugly new computers on wheels but the solution should be  a subsidy to have older less fuel efficient engines refitted with younger performance comparabe model compatible models with a better fuel consumption and improved emissions. It's not right that historical models can be lovingly cared for for decades only to potentially be legislated off the road, which by means of forcing people to give up their property against their will effectively creates a legal form of theft committed by the government against the public. But that's a wholly another subject and I'll only mention it this once here to illustrate a point, it's not an invitation to take the topic of this thread off track.
Bottom line is, I'm not interested in being the thought police, 1984 no thanks, but free speech was intened to be held as a right for the public to be free to criticise their governments without reprisal not to allow hate speech against minority groups. Also as a privately run site with rules* set out as terms for joining the quashing of hatespeech on this forum could never interfere with someone's right to expression as doing so doesn't prohibit or physically stop them from making their own sites to use as a platform to say whatever they like without moderation.
