Plush cuddly animals

Does anyone else love plush cuddly animal toys and find them very comforting? I find they are one of the most comforting things for me. I have about 200 of them and they all live on a big Ikea unit in my bedroom.
Just wondered if anyone has a particular favourite one theyve had for years as well? My favourite is a pygmy hippo ( I love hippos) that I rescued from getting thrown out when I worked in a charity shop years ago

  • I totally get what you mean about finding comfort in them. There's something incredibly soothing about hugging a soft, cuddly friend.
I've got a soft spot for a stuffed panda I've had since I was a kid. It's been with me through thick and thin, and it still brings a smile to my face.

  • I have a stuffed raccoon I've had since I was about 12. When everything becomes too much, I hide under a blanket and cuddle him tightly, over 30 years later.

  • it was the early Sixties and originally had eight legs and a squeeze bowl and tube to make him jump...

A few years ago I got a modern equivalent and thought about transferring the gear to make him jump again, then I remembered that I'm (alledgedly) an adult, so they just live together in a drawer now...

  • Bless him. Ive got a few like that that are quite bedraggled now but they mean so much to me.I have a little giraffe thats lost the fur on her nose

  • wow, thats amazing!

  • I've got a furry rubber spider called sammy who I've had for about 58 years now...

  • I do love Hamley's plushies - they're so soft and well made! Geoffrey is so old he's lost his nose and his roar but I can't be without him! He's going bald in places too! Joy

  • Wow thats amazing that youve had him that long. Ive got a little elephant from hamleys but shes only 3

  • Cats are the original ideal mix of hot water bottle and self cleaning cuddly toy.

    I love this

Yeah, you have to cuddle them on their terms of course, but the quality of the cuddling is way better.

They get to own the cuddly toys in our house, (The "valerian ferret", is massively popular, but he don't get "cuddled" as such.

Surprisingly enough, our two either didn't notice or didn't like, the "Fugglers" mentioned in my other post earlier in this thread, but apparently dogs do..

  • I have a cuddly tiger called Geoffrey from Hamleys in London. My dad brought him for me after I silently cried all the way around the shop when I had to put him back - he turns 28 or 29 this year and has been to Cyprus, Rome, Edinburgh and Wales.

  • Whenever I hear about Cthulhu I always think of the South Park epizode about him and Cartman's Cthulhu song

  • I havent been able to get on the forum all week but it fills me with so much joy to come on here and read all these responses and know how many other people love cuddly animals like me! They really are like our friends

  • Oh my goodness I love Cinncinati zoo! I have been following Fiona and her family for years, watching the videos of them got me through lockdown and I love little fritz, I watch all his instagram videos

It makes me so happy to meet someone else who knows them

    I love hippos

  • I'm never embarrassed by this, nor by the toy pets being seen by visitors. I don't feel embarrassed by our so-called immaturity, our joy in what many would consider childishness. In fact, I love our enthusiasm and our excitement, our passions. Personally-speaking only, I do wonder if these things aren't just a rejection of adulthood, but a rejection of the adult world's inexplicable harshnesses

I love this. It is so true and exactly how I feel. I never thought of the thing about rejecting the adult worlds harshness but I think that is actually very true as well. I think its part of the reason I love spending time with ducks and geese, they are so peaceful and seem so gentle in comparison with cruel confusing humans

  • That's so cool, I love geese! I got a little canada goose beany baby yesterday

  • His tentacles are very soft Smile

  • Yes cuddly toys are the best! I still have one with me each night- a horse called Coco . My mum also has several teddies that are very precious to her! One of them once fell out of the car (when someone got out) and mum only noticed later- She went back hunting for the teddy and luckily found him! My mum’s partner now also has cuddly toys. I personally feel that they are just as much for adults as kids.
