For about a week now, I've had major problems trying to access this forum. Either it partially loads, or doesn't load at all. Even when it partially loads, many of the features of the forum don't work. I can't reply to some threads, and the ones I can reply to don't seem to let me edit my posts or use quotes. On top of all that, if I try to load different topics, it freezes. There's no rhyme or reason to the problems, it's completely random - and if I don't give up soon, I'm going to end up pulling out my hair! Does anyone else have these same issues? I don't think I've seen a website so full of glitches and bugs since the early days of the internet.UPDATE: *I've switched browser from Safari to Chrome and, fingers crossed, a lot of the issues have been resolved.*
I had the same issue.
Hi Robert. I use my Macbook to access the site and since I've switched to Chrome browser, all the issues have gone away.
I can't sleep, so I've been experimenting accessing this site on my laptop.
I have three browsers installed: Chrome, Edge and Firefox. This site appears to work the same in all three. The reply box appears after a bit of effort. Most of the time! On most posts. Not all of them.
My general conclusion is that this forum works much better on a laptop than on a smartphone. Unfortunately I'm always browsing on my phone when I'm out and about. My laptop is stuck at home.
I'm using Chrome now instead of Safari (Mac). The issues have magically been resolved!

It is good that my accidental tries have turned out to be useful testings for others ~ as I have not meant to do a lot of the things I ended up doing (all big and trial and error), such as in one instance last year when I attempted to reformat a memory stick and instead as I found out later had reformatted my hard-drive and I no longer having an operational computer ~ so rather a big mega oops with that one.
I think though that the NAS 'What A Mess' website has rather nice ring to it though, although I wish it was not so descriptively accurate both functionally and aesthetically, alas.
Yeah that advice still works for me.
The site was down altogether the other day. There was a notice on the main page about technical difficulties and I could only access it partially that evening but seems to be fine now.
I'm on Firefox - there are no buttons in the message page - so it's not possible to delete old messages or do anything..
Hilariously, it just double posted this reply - and wouldn't let me delete the duplicate. What a POS.
1. the most important breakage due to the rewrite is the Private Message system -- after 3 messages you can't read anything because they are behind the text input box. This was working fine before the update. Its now effectively useless.
2. we need to be able to add any type of image to the forum replies. Currently we can only attach GIF images. we should also be able to add JPG and PNG images. I have noticed that there was a marked drop in image usage in the new product and many people leave ( those into photography ) due to the limitations imposed on images.
why cant you open a discussion for logging defects, bugs, and improvements ? that way we can see if the issue has been reported already and when. This would stop duplicate issues ( emails) being reported over an over again.
Yes. Same issue as Robert124. ALOT of refreshing the screen. Works decently on comododragon chrome......BUT can we talk about the private messaging problems??? Even when you delete msg/refresh....it's almost too frustrating to use.
I agree. And I've abandoned posting on the daily updates thread because each time I have to scroll through hundreds of posts to get to the last few latest ones.
It's so frustrating. I'm on a Mac and use Safari browser. I've just switched to Chrome and it seems to be a bit more stable. Fingers crossed.
I forgot about that one, Robert.
This forum is Anti-Firefox. (I have to use Chrome just to reply)
It's not as bad on a computer, though. It's mainly a phone issue.
Hi everyone,
Thank you all for your feedback about this website. I've passed this one to the web team. If you like to get in touch with more feedback, you can email us at communitymanager@nas.org.uk.
Many thanks!

I find many sites like this that don't behave as expected. I have been prosecuted for getting caught in one such process online. The police and justice systems seem to treat all online recordings as genuine
Yes and also problems accessing private messages and the help/information pages elsewhere on the website. And it's also random whether notifications are on or off each time I post on a new thread.
They've tried to be ever so clever with delays and reveals and formatting but, as usual, never seem to understand how people use a forum. Utterly clueless.
They just created a mess. And I still can't get on with the nested format - it makes every thread into untidy mess that's impossible to follow.
Oh yes. That F5 key comes in mighty useful for reload.
Nightmare on the mobile.
Apparently missing peoples names on postings on the list of discussion threads is the latest quirk.
I’ve had problems on the main website as well, keeps loading page 2 of 4 of the account sign up process
