Non voter

#Starmer #LabourParty It seems they are intent on doing all they can to make me a non voter. Their stance on welfare is my primary reason for believing that. Yes the Tories and Reform would be even worse, but I need more than just 'at least they're not as bad' to cast a future vote for Labour. I need to know they genuinely care about the disabled and/or vulnerable...That they're not going to punish them for the bad and irresponsible behaviour of those far more fortunate in life. Sadly the signs are far from good. Voting for a Labour party that regards bullying the disabled and/or vulnerable as an acceptable way of proving how competent, and strong, it is, doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

  • Interesting. He was still describing himself as gay in posts only 7 days ago.

I suspect Irish is going through something at the moment.

Maybe take a break and reflect on what you’re going through?

  • You can stand by what you said, that's fine. But your arguments have no basis in reality. You've constructed, or more likely been presented from some odd corner of the internet, with an intellectual house of cards, that can't withstand even the most gentle element of enquiry. Because it can't stand interrogation, its proponents make bad-faith arguments about the people pointing out its inconsistencies.

As someone who has studied history, I struggle with the argument we are in a uniquely terrible place at the moment. In countless ways, we are incredibly lucky historically - in terms health, life-expectancy, access to a wide range of food, education, literacy, medicine.  I can point to plenty of things I would like to change, but there is no problem that calls for the kind of violent, repressive militarism you're suggesting. There is no way that would provide any kind of solution, it would merely be an arbitrarily violent society that would turn into a powder keg.

When you say things like "frankly, we are in no position to have any other viewpoints," you're talking purely for yourself. We, are of course, free to have any number of other viewpoints and you cannot force your opinion on us.

If you're sincere, and you really do believe all of this, then I would gently like to suggest you interrogate some of the sources you are using for your information. I think it's absolutely right to question and critique ideas and concepts and not to purely take things on their word. But you need to apply that as much to the conspiracy theorists as you should to established media sources, governments, and agencies. Why do the former get a free pass? Why are they authorities that can be trusted? Who are they?

I notice on your profile you refer to yourself as 'ex-gay', if that means you've been through some kind of conversion therapy to align your sexuality with an orthodox Catholic faith, then that perhaps provides some insight into your thinking. I don't believe you can forcibly change your sexuality and become ex-gay, ex-bi, or ex-straight, although sexuality can and does evolve and change over time. To sustain the idea of yourself as ex-gay, you have to commit to a great deal of repressive self-policing. I think it's entirely your right to do that as an adult in a free society, but what you can't do or expect, is for that micro personal struggle to be expanded to a macro societal level.

You're welcome to your faith, and your political beliefs, and your identity as ex-gay and the moral framework that underpins it. But other people are also free to point out that it sounds completely crackpot, and it seems to be coming from quite an unhappy place.

I suspect there may be other ways to ameliorate your unhappiness that don't require military dictatorship.

  • children need a harsh, severe and tough upbringing right from the start,

    That's got a name.

    It's called 'abuse'.

I dearly hope that you have no contact with children.

  • I honestly can’t believe you’re not trolling us Irish.

  • only solution is a Millitary dictatorship government (the most transparent form of government there is) with no one milltary leader taking overall power and having a permanent national state of emergency, permanent martial law via Millitary courts and permanent police state with armed police and armed milltary on our streets - a dedicated and all powerful armed religious milltary morality police must be established to enforce traditional Christian religious teachings by a show of overwhelming milltary force to ensure absolute compliance and actively prevent all dissent, with the sweeping legal powers to instruct all other bodies like councils, police and army to carry out certain actions

Hello Irish, I would like  to point you to the governments definition of extremism:

    https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/new-definition-of-extremism-2024/new-definition-of-extremism-2024

Extremism can lead to the radicalisation of individuals, deny people their full rights and opportunities, suppress freedom of expression, incite hatred, erode our democratic institutions, social capital and cohesion, and can lead to acts of terrorism.

I'm afraid your willingness to deny us out democracy by overthrowing a government will clearly put you firmly in the extremist camp.

I know you despise the governments and probably don't believe what they say, but for now they run the aparatus of the police and military so they would happily crush you for being a potential threat to their rule.

With this risk to your wellbeing now being apparent I would urge you to please shut up about your extremism and return to less contentious discussions.

  • There is much repetitive haranguing and a failure to engage with the issues raised in replies and in questions. Seems like unimaginative thinking and powerlessness can make conspiracy theories and military dictatorships attractive.

  • I've just read IIM's latest post, its nearly at the bottom of the thread, so I had to really look for it.

IIM, We do have choices, we always have choices and I don't agree with your assessment at all. As ever you've not given us any idea as to where you came by the information you're so wedded too, I'm not asking you to explain yourself in any negative way, I mearly want to understand how you reached your views? As it seems you will not give me any idea of where you came by your information and seem to have doubled down on your previous posts, I can only assume that that either you have no information to share or are very insecure in that information.

Like A, I don't know if you're for real or if all your screeds are just the incoherant ramblings of a wind up merchant?

You deny we've ever had a far right, where have "we" never had one and who is this "we" you refer too? Having been fairly politically active most of my adult life, I've had plenty of encounters with the far right in the UK, none of them good.

It's Holocaust Memorial day today, the 80th aniversary of the liberation of Aucshwitz, which to me makes the denial of any far right groups particulalry offensive, because what were the Nazi's if not far rightwing?

Has anyone got any instances of any benign military dictatorship, because I've not and I have a good knowlege of history and I can't find one, they all seem to be murderous.

I can't imagine why anyone would think a military dictatorship would be a good thing or how it ties into "traditional values", what would happen to any who didn't want to controlled or governed by such an entity? Would we all be killed or imprisoned, or "reducated" Chinese style?

I seem to remember that we had a conservative government during covid and for a few years afterwards too. They locked down, our lockdowns were a lot less onerous than those of many other countries, we had an efficient vaccine roll out, some may not like the idea of being vaccinated, but I think those that do have short memories, I'm old enough to remember kids wearing calipers and built up shoes from complications due to polio, not something I think humanity needs to revisit. To those who think we should have locked down, what do they think a viable alternative would of been? Because from what I've heard, nobody has any, other than for many millions more people to be infected and an even higher death rate. I've also yet to hear of any anti-vaxer and lockdown sceptic volunteering to be among the dead, so I can only assume its some kind of indulgence for oneself and punishment for everybody else sort of thing

  • I totally stand by all of what I have said, as it is the only way to defeat the globalist deep state and its leftist underlings - frankly, we are not in any position to have any other viewpoints and there is simply no alternative, as the stakes at this point are way too high, given the immense social damage that has been caused by leftists and their globalist masters since WW1, WW2, the 1960’s, post 9/11 and since Covid

  • You're describing a nightmare-ish, authoritarian dystopia straight out of 1984. 'Absolute compliance' backed up by 'overwhelming military force', and the prevention of all dissent.

You say there's no such thing as 'far right' and then call for a society which by any number of definitions comfortably meets the criteria for far right. The restrictions we went through because of Covid would be nothing like the ones we'd experience under what you describe.

  • That’s a matter of opinion and you weren’t singled out.

No need to delete your account though.

  • I didn't start the nastiness. So why are you singling me out?

  • All I can say is that I sincerely hope a mute feature can be implemented on this forum

  • in all of my posts on this thread, I only speak the uncomfortable truth as an awake Irish patriot who is witnessing at first hand the “deconstruction” (destruction) of not just my beloved homeland but also of every western country globally, including the U.K. - in addition to seeing our countries being systematically dismantled in real time by the globalists and thier leftist helpers via the imposition of global communism, we are also witnessing the futures of future generations of our young people slipping away, if our young people even make it to childbearing age and therefore the future of western civilisation - in addition to this, we are also facing the distinct possibility of a global nuke war, therefore the stakes could not be higher - we have been warned about this many times by people from Eastern Europe who have suffered greatly under the former Soviet communist regime and they have seen the warning signs of this happening here in the west that have destroyed several generations of thier own families - despite being a communist country, the CCP wants to be a player on the global world stage and has worked very closely with the WEF and other globalist bodies to impose global communism on the western world via the social credit system - the globalists have won several significant victories to date since Covid, however increasing numbers of people are waking up, which even allowing for people’s lack of trust in him, as leaders are “selected not elected” President Trump still got re-elected and hopefully he can take firm action to at least impede the globalists or even totally stop the globalists in their tracks - I’d always held out some hope that positive change could happen all during Covid but in 2022, I’d lost all hope and confidence in our leaders - however, as much as I may not totally trust him, I am cautiously optimistic that President Trump can do some good, learning from his past mistakes during his last term from 2016-2020 and before the election steal during Covid

  • Whats you evidence for all this stuff you come out with, where do you get it from

I heard a theory that it was from a guy who works down the chip shop and claims he's Elvis.

  • Honestly can’t tell if you’re for real

  • If voting made any real difference than voting would be illegal - there is no political nor democratic solution - the insidious and deceptive nature of democracy itself has enabled much of the problems that we are seeing now where democracy itself has been infiltrated, hijacked and corrupted beyond all repair to ever again be fit for purpose, where in all truth, leftists have abandoned all of their core values in obedience to their globalist deep state masters and instead have adopted a version of communism which they seek to impose on everyone on behalf of the globalist elites
