Hi. Does anyone here ever see characters in tv, movie or books and feel like they are probably autistic? I do this a lot. Just curious to know if anyone else does this.One character I always feel is autistic is Newt Scamander from Fantastic Beasts (Harry Potter). I see so much of myself in him, quiet/socially awkward, he has difficulty understanding and communicating with people, prefers animals to people, eccentric, loves his special interest, obsessive, notices the littlest things others often miss......and he's eccentric. I don't think he's written as autistic, I've never read he was, but I see so much autism in him. And I do with other characters as well.
To go super nerdy, Vivi (and another spoilery group) in Final Fantasy IX feels that way. He's kinda awkward with people and has this incredibly earnest and a bit innocent view of things. It's a little hard to put into words, but anyone who's played it will hopefully see what I mean.
Only played two hours of FFIX but honestly I can see this one. He has that outlook of every autistic little kid I've met and it's sooo sweet.
