Autism Dating

Hello All

I'm in the club with everyone else who never had a loving relationship or never found one that works for them, I had a girlfriend from school we dated for a month before it exploded in the school and ever since that I never had another one but at the stage in life where I want to start settling things down and find someone I love and join the in love club but with Autism that is very hard for because I struggle with social interaction.

For the last few years I have thought this year is the year I will fall in love with someone who understand every quark about autism but this has coming to nothing and getting more and more lonely with only a few friends and no social life.

I know there a few dating services out there which specialises in supporting people autism and other special needs along the journey of dating and finding the right person for you. I want to know is this the way you prefer date with someone to help you critical stages or do you use normal online dating services.

I have watched the Channel 4 series undateables before now found it create heartwarming when they find a match for people taking part in the show.

I have found a good looking site for me but only problem is never heard of the site before and it called My Favourite Hello and it specialise in people with Autism.

  • I had a look at "my favorite hello" and they wanted way way to much info before they'd even let me see if there's any one on the site.

  • Hi Stuart

Firstly, I am not trying to push people into using any dating sites and have no association with the company but do feel that is a quite good idea to offer such a service for those on the spectrum who are interested in trying to make friends or foster relationships.

in terms of this company’s membership fee. See below, taken from their Facebook page.

Are you willing to give #dating a chance in 2019? If you are #neurodiverse then sign up at My favourite hello. We are designed to match people according to who they are, not just their condition. Membership is FREE with code MYFREEHELLO. PS sorry that this video is a bit binary and straight!

also in terms of personal data, under the new data protection rules that came into force in May 2018.

The GDPR provides the following rights for individuals:

    1. The right to be informed
    2. The right of access
    3. The right to rectification
    4. The right to erasure
    5. The right to restrict processing
    6. The right to data portability
    7. The right to object
    8. Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling.

So, you may consider to sign up and then exercise your right to data erasure. You should also have some say in regard to how your data is used, shared, and processed.

there are many potential ways of meeting a companion, and such sites are one of them. In all cases exercise self and respect to others, careful disclosure and don’t rush things..

  • Well it's more I want to know if there are actually people on the site I might want to talk to before I fill out a 7 page form.,, And your profile and behind the scenes matching data doesn't mean any thing. All the counts on dating sites and messaging 100s of women (no really it's a numbers game to get replys)

  • I’m glad you’re being logical and astute about it.
