Autism Dating

Hello All

I'm in the club with everyone else who never had a loving relationship or never found one that works for them, I had a girlfriend from school we dated for a month before it exploded in the school and ever since that I never had another one but at the stage in life where I want to start settling things down and find someone I love and join the in love club but with Autism that is very hard for because I struggle with social interaction.

For the last few years I have thought this year is the year I will fall in love with someone who understand every quark about autism but this has coming to nothing and getting more and more lonely with only a few friends and no social life.

I know there a few dating services out there which specialises in supporting people autism and other special needs along the journey of dating and finding the right person for you. I want to know is this the way you prefer date with someone to help you critical stages or do you use normal online dating services.

I have watched the Channel 4 series undateables before now found it create heartwarming when they find a match for people taking part in the show.

I have found a good looking site for me but only problem is never heard of the site before and it called My Favourite Hello and it specialise in people with Autism.

  • Tryinng it now, There arn't that many people yet, Pictures are checkeed by humans though,  No one near me is on the site yet, To message some one you select a question for them, Rather than typing a message, Im not sure how I feel about that. As tyrping a message to some one on a reguler dating site is quite draining. But this could be open to abuse.

If the money is to pay for moderation on the site that could be worth it. But would harm the site getting more populer. The layout is confusing though!

  • Has anyone else tried My Favourite Hello?

  • ,

How do you find My Favourite Hello? Do you like it?

  • I’m glad you’re being logical and astute about it.

  • You could probally set one of those up on facebook, or find one. The news feed on facebook is satan, But groups are actually quite useful.

  • Don't worry they didn't get any money of me but I would like to know more about Autistic Social Groups

  • Well it's more I want to know if there are actually people on the site I might want to talk to before I fill out a 7 page form.,, And your profile and behind the scenes matching data doesn't mean any thing. All the counts on dating sites and messaging 100s of women (no really it's a numbers game to get replys)

  • Jollygiant. These people are just after your money and your personal details.

If you're looking for Friendship, there are various autistic social groups you can join.

If you're looking for the Love Of Your Life then you might benefit from reading a book called The Happiness Trap by Dr Russ Harris.

If you're looking for a .... (the rest of this sentence has been self censored to avoid giving offense but you can probably figure it out for yourself).

  • Hi Stuart

Firstly, I am not trying to push people into using any dating sites and have no association with the company but do feel that is a quite good idea to offer such a service for those on the spectrum who are interested in trying to make friends or foster relationships.

in terms of this company’s membership fee. See below, taken from their Facebook page.

Are you willing to give #dating a chance in 2019? If you are #neurodiverse then sign up at My favourite hello. We are designed to match people according to who they are, not just their condition. Membership is FREE with code MYFREEHELLO. PS sorry that this video is a bit binary and straight!

also in terms of personal data, under the new data protection rules that came into force in May 2018.

The GDPR provides the following rights for individuals:

    1. The right to be informed
    2. The right of access
    3. The right to rectification
    4. The right to erasure
    5. The right to restrict processing
    6. The right to data portability
    7. The right to object
    8. Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling.

So, you may consider to sign up and then exercise your right to data erasure. You should also have some say in regard to how your data is used, shared, and processed.

there are many potential ways of meeting a companion, and such sites are one of them. In all cases exercise self and respect to others, careful disclosure and don’t rush things..

  • Your information is very valuable to them to sell on.

  • I had a look at "my favorite hello" and they wanted way way to much info before they'd even let me see if there's any one on the site.

  • ***, that made me laugh! The Drake meme is classic!

  • Oh, I haven't signed up. I'm not interested in dating myself, but since the OP seemed to want it and really liked the series, I thought it might be something worth trying. But I do agree that it may not always work out as well as the show may make it seem.

  • I've watched all of the Undateables series and I'm becomming unhappy with it. The first couple of series seemed genuine but the latest ones seemed to be going more into the lazy freakshow / ratings grabbing territory typical of todays sloppy programming.

Good luck with being signed up, but I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

  • I'm not really sure how dating and falling in love works as I have never experienced either.

I've never heard of Channel 4 undateables until reading your post. I googled it, and it seems very interesting! Maybe you can try to sign up to find a match? They have a telephone and email here:

  • Also, make sure you practice safe hex and don't go POKEing things that may have unanticipated consequences.

    1. General Information

This privacy statement (together with the My favourite hello Terms and Conditions of Service and any other documents referred to on it) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. By agreeing to use My favourite hello's products and services you agree that you will allow My favourite hello to use your personal information together with any sensitive personal information, such as your ethnic origin, in conformity with the processes set out in the My favourite hello Terms and Conditions of Service and this privacy statement.

The types of information that we collect fall under two general categories: personally identifiable information (PII) and non-personally identifiable information (non-PII). PII consists of any information which can be used to specifically identify you as an individual, whereas non-PII consists of aggregate information or any information that does not reveal your identity. The following sections describe how your PII and non-PII are collected by us, and how we use such information.

    4. How we collect and use information

Log Files. Any time you visit the My favourite hello website, we gather certain information about your use of our website (such as your IP addresses, browser type, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks) to analyze trends, administer the site, track visitor movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. For example, we log your IP address for system administration purposes. IP addresses are logged to track a user’s session. This gives My favourite hello an idea of which parts of our site users are visiting. We do not link any of the information in our log files to any other information that would enable us to determine your actual identity. This means that a user’s session will be tracked, but the user will be anonymous. We will only link your log files to your personal details, if necessary and in exceptional circumstances, for internal troubleshooting and system performance purposes. We do not share your log files externally.

My favourite hello Cookies. We use “cookies” to keep track of some types of information while you are visiting our website or using our services. Cookies are very small files placed on your computer, and they allow us to count the number of visitors to our website and distinguish repeat visitors from new visitors. They also allow us to save user preferences and track users , so that we can continue to develop and improve our service offering. We also use cookie data collected during your visit(s) to our site to recognise you when you visit third party sites that we have partnered with so that we can show you My favourite hello advertisements that we think may interest you on those sites (“Targeted Ads”). You always have the right to decide whether to accept or decline cookies, whether for Targeted Ads purposes or otherwise. This is described in more detail in the section below.

    Session and persistent cookies

Session cookies are temporary and will be erased after you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your hard drive unless you manually delete them or until expiration after a set period of time. The primary purposes of persistent cookies are to make logging in to your account an easier process and for performance analytics by us or a trusted partner. First and third party cookies may be session or persistent.

    First party cookies

First party cookies are placed by us on your computer for a variety of purposes including website functionality, tracking length of visitor stay and number of unique visitors to the website, and evaluating the popularity of specific site offerings.

My favourite hello first party cookies include:

    ADRUM

User experience - Temporarily stores captured information during signup to avoid user having to re-enter this information if they were redirected away from the page due to logging in with Facebook or Google.

    genderPreference

User experience - Temporarily stores captured information during signup to avoid user having to re-enter this information if they were redirected away from the page due to logging in with Facebook or Google.

    Web beacons

Web Beacons. “Web beacons” (also known as “clear gifs” and “pixel tags”) are small transparent graphic images that are often used in conjunction with cookies in order to further personalize our website for our users and to collect a limited set of information about our visitors. We may also use web beacons in email communications in order to understand the behaviour of our customers. We do not link the web beacons to any information that would enable us to determine the actual identity of any individual.

My favourite hello third party cookies include:

    __utma Cookie

A persistent cookie - remains on a computer, unless it expires or the cookie cache is cleared. It tracks visitors. Metrics associated with the Google __utma cookie include: first visit (unique visit), last visit (returning visit). This also includes Days and Visits to purchase calculations which afford ecommerce websites with data intelligence around purchasing sales funnels.

    __utmb Cookie & __utmc Cookie

These cookies work in tandem to calculate visit length. Google __utmb cookie demarks the exact arrival time, then Google __utmc registers the precise exit time of the user.

Because __utmb counts entrance visits, it is a session cookie, and expires at the end of the session, e.g. when the user leaves the page. A timestamp of 30 minutes must pass before Google cookie __utmc expires. Given__utmc cannot tell if a browser or website session ends. Therefore, if no new page view is recorded in 30 minutes the cookie is expired

    __utmz Cookie

Cookie __utmz monitors the HTTP Referrer and notes where a visitor arrived from, with the referrer siloed into type (Search engine (organic or cpc), direct, social and unaccounted). From the HTTP Referrer the __utmz Cookie also registers, what keyword generated the visit plus geolocation data. This cookie lasts six months. In tracking terms this Cookie is perhaps the most important as it will tell you about your traffic and help with conversion information such as what source / medium / keyword to attribute for a Goal Conversion

    __utmv Cookie

Google __utmv Cookie lasts "forever". It is a persistent cookie. It is used for segmentation, data experimentation and the __utmv works hand in hand with the __utmz cookie to improve cookie targeting capabilities.

    Your cookie choices

However, we rely on cookies for the proper operation of our website and if your browser is set to reject all cookies, the website will not function properly.
