hello

hello im a 38 year old male, i have had aspergers syndrome since i was diagnosed at the age of 13...

i have extreme difficulties in socialising although im very intelectual i have no social skills and find conversing very difficult.

my name is david, im currently looking to make some friends who maybe like to exchange situation advice and maybe help me make some friends and hopefully help me progress in life?....

i have found life as an adult with aspergers to be very unwanting and unrewarding...

i seldom find anyone who knows what im going through or knows how to approach me or even offer support...

i would be very pleased with any advice on how to improve my life and maybe make some friends along the way..

thank you for reading and hope someone knows what im going through....

  • You could join an Aspie social group (check this website out for what's on in your area) or NAS coffee morning.  Google might throw up something if you type your hometown name and "Asperger's socialising" in.

If you need support you could approach adult social care for an assessment of need.  You are legally entitled to an autism care pathway, according to the Autism Strategy.  Unfortunately support never gets offered, you have to seek it yourself (or get someone to on your behalf).

BTW, Asperger's is lifelong, you would have had it from birth, not only the age at which you were diagnosed.

There are a few of us adult Aspies on here.  If you have any specific questions, let us know.
