Evening everyone
I’m new to this forum I have no formal diagnosis but after meeting with numerous mental health professionals over the years I am being put forward for assessment possibly next spring
11 meters probably is quite quiet now in the winter especially with it being close to the sunspot minimum. I listen on SW a little, its where I started off as a kid in the 70s. VHF is my main interest though.
Several inc Epiphone SG Custom Ivory, John Dillon copy of a Brian May Red Special, Yamaha Pacifica 112 with a Kahler trem and a Fender Squire Strat modded with a Van Halen 1 Frankenstrat B&W paint job.Never really been big on acoustics...I didnt own one for many years... but just bought a cheap Gear4Music Ovation copy off Ebay for £36 which after a bit of tweaking isnt bad. My eldest lad plays a Uke, but they do my head in cos of the weird tuning!
@jonsey I see your a part time guitar hero do you own a guitar if so what do you own I have a Yamaha acoustic and a Honeyburst finish epiphone elite Les Paul and a ukulele
Yes been interested since school passed RAE mid 90s more into 11 metres that’s where I started all those years ago
Great band @jonsey and @moggsy
ahh the great Eddie Hazel... "play as if your mother had just died" I think was the instruction from George.
Given the tastes of both Hippy and Jonesy, can I recommend Maggot Brain (Funkadelic). You probably both know it, but if not, have a listen - it'll blow your mind!
Hippy65 - I see from your profile you are a but of a radio buff too. I've been into radio and TV DXing since I was a kid. Currently I'm mainly into FM radio DX. I did pass my RAE in my 20s but never really got into transmitting, reception is more my thing particularly tropospheric and sporadic-e modes.
Been playing guitar since I was 14, played classical violin, viola and piano before that. Huge rock fan...glam, classic, heavy/hard, some prog, punk and new wave 76-81, some 90s Indie and Brit Pop... old metal before it got too thrashy and extreme...also love old school funk, dabble with some Jazz (love Pat Metheny!). Dislikes; anything too electronic and that has been created on a computer by some producer ie most Pop music from the last 20 odd years, rave/house monotonous electronic dance music etc etc, also not too keen on Folk and Blues gets too boring for me after about 3 tracks. In a nutshell I like music played by bands playing in real time who play and write with skill and passion and don't need to be auto-tuned, cleaned up and quantized by a computer to sound good....and can play live without relying on backing tracks and samples etc.
I've put a Queen track on the Juke box for you and Jonesy!
Jonsey I’m amassive Queen fan love rock metal folk and a bit of blues some Jazz bit of funk play guitar a bit
ahh clearly a man of taste! I'm a huge Queen fan since that first TOTP performance of Seven Seas of Rhye in 74.
Morning Jonsey I won’t mourn the nt I’m trying to be but celibate who I really am I’ll still be the same me six foot awkward music living Spurs supporting 53 year old bald hippy but explain to people friends family why I’m like I am
Which track would you like? I will try and put it on the Juke Box for you.
Hi Sunflower tried to put some music on but useless at down loading the juke box needs a bit of Freddie
Yep same here, but the confusion has cleared since I got my diagnosis 11 months ago. Relieved to finally understand myself but also mourning the NT self I had spent so much of those 53 years trying to be.I'm also a big music fan and yes vinyl, CD's or digital files have to be cataloged in the correct order for me too!
Lots of music lovers here! We've got a Virtual Jukebox in the Autistic adults forum - do put a track on sometime.
Reading various things on here it makes sense I’ve collected music nearly my whole life carefully arranging them in order very obsessive I can’t cope if they are out of order I won’t let anyone touch my vinyl
Things starting to make sense would I choose to be NT now way
Many of us have been confused for a very long time! It's wonderful when it all finally starts to make sense... welcome!
