Hi there,
My son has Aspergers and learning difficulties. He is extremely noise sensitive and struggles at school. I am trying to research the best noise cancelling headphones/ear defenders. I have bought him some ear defenders on Amazon which he has tried out today but they didnt help.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Lettie
The best ones I have found are the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 ones, they are around £300 though. I love mine. I have been trying to find some decent in-ear ones, but haven't had much luck yet,.
Agreed about the QC35s. The QC25 model can still be bought (for roughly half the price of the QC35) and the noise cancelling is either just as a good or very, very similar.
I have a pair of Spracht Konf-X ear buds. I have not used them a great deal but, so far, have been satisfied with the noise cancelling. I bought them from Amazon.
You might be interested in the QuietOns. Take a look at this thread:https://community.autism.org.uk/f/health-and-wellbeing/11756/active-noise-cancelling-earplugs
Agreed.
I did have some of these, but sold them, they were not very good

Based on my experience, the Spracht will not be close to the QC35 for noise cancelling but then they are a lot, lot cheaper. I did not want to spend the QC30 kind of money on ear buds as I am not keen on putting things in my ears, however, when the weather is hot the over-ear headphones make things even warmer and so I bought the Spracht's.
Getting the right fit will be important (and my pair came with a good choice of tips). There is also a button to allow speech, for example, to be heard for short periods.
In terms of noise cancelling, I was pleasantly surprised at how good they were but they are not in the same league as the QC35 (or QC25).
Thanks, I will take a look st the Spracht ear buds. I purchased the Bose Quiet Control 30 noise cancelling ear buds, but I didn't find them that comfortable and the noise cancelling was nowhere near as good as my QC35's
