What's your favourite way to block sounds

I always use noise cancelling headphones on flights.(have done for years without actually realising why they made me feel better)  For everyday places (like shops or other people filled places) I use loops.

First time I learn about loops!. Not sure how they are different than regular headphones but I'll read about it. Thank you
