Proposals to improve Blue Badge eligibility for autistic people. So we are about 2 weeks away from the consultation which would of then had ended 2 months ago on the 18 March 2018.
I know goverment is slow but they got to have good idea of what there are going to be doing by now.So any idea about this Blue Badge progressing? Is it going to happen or not?

There is an issue here.First they are saying 3.21iv. follow the route of any journey without another person, assistance animal or orientation aid
Then demanding in 3.30PIP score of 12 points under the ‘Planning and following journeys’ activitySo what is the issue here?Well PIP rates and one the ways you can get 10 pointsFor reasons other than psychological distress cannot follow the route of an unfamiliar journey without another person, assistance dog or orientation aid. 10 points
For reasons other than psychological distress cannot follow the route of a familiar journey without another person, an assistance dog or an orientation aid. 12 points
They are both same thing. Just one for familiar/unfamiliar journeys. This is normal is just local shops etc. There is no real diffrance between them. The problems are just same thing. But they are saying "
follow the route of any journey" They are not using the word all but any. This is both descriptors.
But concils will act they way they do and see it has to be 12 points.
The full govement answer. You have read a bit about stuff, the bit we are intrested in is 3.21and 3.30

I am more concerned about phrases like "very considerable psychological distress". This sounds like a way of excluding a fair proportion of people with autism and/or mental health problems. We shall have to wait for the detail.
Thank you.
hopefull we will see a difinative date soon.

This is on the BBC website this morning, by way of an update
I'm also wondering what has happened with this review. The last update on the government website appears to be March. This was supposed to be completed at the end of June - whats going on? Can the NAS answer this?
