How do you get about and are you happy with your mode of transport?
I used my legs, pushbike, moped, buses and trains until 17 years ago when I got my 1st car.
Now my car has died and I don't anticipate being able to drive again, for various reasons.
I'm wanting to make the best of this - far less expense and what I find the unpleasant experience of driving and grappling with other aggressive drivers.
I might get fitter.
I do have a couple of people who would be willing to give me lifts when necessary.
Any upsides anyone can see to me being car free, but also, what about you?
ps. I no longer work, so that's a huge advantage when not having your own transport.
I like the idea of life being slower, which it will be without a car.
I know I will miss being able to go for a drive when I'm low, but then hopefully I can do something else that might be more useful eg gardening.
Online shopping makes it much easier nowadays to be without a vehicle than was once the case.
When I am shopping via a bus; I like to use a two-wheeled upright shopper trolley. However, I didn't feel I wanted a tartan fabric one - so I found a reasonably priced one in an independent shop - with a waterproof, outrageous animal print design. Distinctive, functional and easier / more controllable to use than a load of supermarket carrier bags. Works well for my requirements.

I purchased one this afternoon on Amazon!
Sadly, lacking the 'outrageous animal print design' though.
Well, ...we might just be at risk of being classified as "On Trend" after all!:
