My psychiatrist feels I have autism

But is not qualified to make the diagnosis, says I need to see a specialist, and I have made my mind up to go private with psychiatry uk. I am 38, female and very anxious about this assessment, because if I have been missed I might be missed again? Can that even happen?

  • It's possible but remember that you're going to be seen by autism specialists so the chances of them missing the diagnosis are unlikely.

I think it's natural to be feeling anxious but try not to let it worry you too much, this is a positive thing and it should mean a happier life for you after. Good things are coming! Best of luck, I hope it all goes well for you.
