What scares you ?

To be aware of it is the scariest thing in the universe --- If it exists outside our perception.  Awareness that we are nothing compared to the size of the universe and our time of existence in this universe is less than the blink of a cosmic eye. Awareness that our senses are drastically limited to perceive the true nature of the universe. Awareness that any amount of scientific knowledge won’t be enough for us to differentiate if the universe is subjective or objective, that we're pre-programmed or we have a free will, that we are created or are we the  result of some random events (or experiment). For me this is my broad view.  At a more personal level what scares you.

Parents
  • Doctors. My body. (Sits in corner post meltdown, stimming frantically or goes into shut down while medical capacity is lost).

Other than that, moral bravery is born of  autism. Don't ask our opinion if you don't want the truth. Sycophanic posterior licking and social tyranies of the water cooler hold no fear for me. Don't try to understand it  Just ignore the lot of it and keep your own counsel.

  • I’m almost the opposite - I’m unusually calm when I go to the doctors whether it’s because I’m ill or it’s normally quiet.

(There’s a saying beware the injured golfer because a lot of golfers play better when they are injured because it distracts them from what’s normally going on in their heads.)

I’m a bit uneasy round dentists though.
