Book club

What are you reading at the moment?

Any recommendations?

I mainly read crime novels but have run out of new ones so am re-reading Graham Greene.

I am on Brighton Rock at the moment.

On a kindle due to eyesight issues.

Parents
  • I've recently finished The Night of the Hunter by Davis Grubb.

    Wonderful book.

I've just finished 'Snow' by John Banville which I would recommend although it has disturbing themes.

  • Do you tend to have more than one on the go or just read one?

I had been half way through a very interesting book then BOOM my spoons disappeared and I now don't have the concentration to continue no matter how i try. It's incredibly frustrating. It was my life and enjoyment at the time.

Children
  • I probably read one novel a year or two years. And I can't just pick up fiction and start reading it unless I really really know what it's about. I'm the same with watching films. And then the font type sometimes puts me off! I'm definitely a non fiction reader.

    Just one.

I don't share what you experience with regard to fiction - I think I've read without fail every day of my life.

Nowadays I tend to read an hour after lunch and then all evening.

I don't however have the concentration these days to read non-fiction.

    I do this.

I read so many books at the same time but I never get lost from the other books I'm reading.

When I'm anxious or having things on my mind I tend to go from book to book. I don't know why.
