Favourite animals

Just wondered what everyone's favourite animals and living creatures were? As I find animals seem a lot nicer than humans most of the time

I love hippos. There are 3 hippos at the zoo I go to and I love to just sit and watch them walk around their grass and splash in their pool. I find it funny how hippos spray their poo with their tail too. I love rhinos as well, there is something so peaceful about rhinos. As soon as I start looking at them I feel at peace

My favourite thing to do is feed the ducks. I love sitting by the river watching the ducks, geese and swans and feeding them. It clears my head more than anything and makes me so happy. I find I have real connection to them too, they eat out of my hand. I feel like they are my friends

  • Cows. huh.. It means you have a calm, commanding presence. Like a bull that is not under threat.

  • Hippos are such cool creatures, and the zoo sounds like a chill spot. I can imagine the joy of watching them do their thing! And rhinos, with their peaceful vibes, are underrated for sure.

Feeding the ducks by the river sounds like the perfect zen activity. It's amazing how nature and these feathered friends can bring so much happiness. The connection you have with them, eating out of your hand, is heartwarming!

Thanks for sharing your favorite animals and the positive vibes! By the way, you can check out thttps://dragonfreak.com/guide - super cool site! Lots of interesting stuff there.

  • I got a plush toy Orca at the zoo recently! I also have a dolphin that Ive had since I was a kid and a tawny and snowy owls

  • I don't want to be the odd one out here but I don't like animals. I don't mean that in a horrible way, I don't wish them harm but I prefer them away from me rather than close. Animals are one of my biggest fears and just the thought of them makes me anxious. Why I don't have a pet.

  • My favourite animals have to be orcas and snow leopards. There's something fascinating about the way orcas and dolphins communicate and play with each other. Snow leopards climbing ability never ceases to amaze me. Unsurprisingly owls are also some of my favourites, and all of the aforementioned are also unsurprisingly plush toys on my bed! Joy

  • A nice way of thinking about it. Couldn’t agree more.

  • They really are. They have such a strong community and look after each other too, a bit like all of us here

  • That sounds lovely. They are truly incredible animals. I imaging they are, like most animals, more complex than we give them credit for.

  • I'd not heard that - but I love it!

  • I love the quote from Winston Churchill about why pigs were his favourite animal

He said "Cats look down on people, dogs look up to people but a pig looks a human in the eye as its equal" I rather like that

  • Our zoo has just had a baby elephant born. She is so cute. All the other female elephants soround her to look after her. It's really nice, they all walked her over to the side of the enclosure together and just stood in front of the people as if they were introducing her to us

  • I used to have guinea pigs. They lived in a hutch just outside the back door and made a little squeaky noise when we came home. They also made other sounds when they were happy or we gave them vegetables. They loved the tops of carrots. They were entertaining when they were in their run.

These days I like watching birds in the garden and their different antics. Magpies hopping are quite amusing.

  • I love all things miniature, but where animals are concerned, my favourite does not follow this trend.

I absolutely love elephants. If find them fascinating and incredibly gentle and graceful for their size. I think they are very emotionally complex too. A genuinely amazing animal.

  • I like animals but can't get too close as I'm allergic to most of them sadly. My fav animal is the panda Panda face just love how cute and quirky they are like how they sit and eat and just roll around lol. Never seen one but seen lots of pics and videos. I want a pet one Rofl

  • Pigs! they are so intelligent and totally misunderstood by so many people

  • My favourite animals are wolves and owls.. Both I think are adorable and are so interesting. I like foxes as well.

I also love lions, tigers and penguins :)

I'm also a big fan of horses. My uncle and aunt had a farm a few years ago and they had horses, so cute I used to do riding and I loved that.

  • If you can just "be", standing in the presence of one or more wild deer - it is simply magical and a huge privilege in my opinion.  Happened to me a few weeks ago - we were about 50 foot from each other and just stood for about 5 minutes.

  • Cats, all types, domestic and wild. Of the big cats, my favourite would be the tiger. I'm not keen on white tigers as they are largely an artificially bred human creation, plus they are not as aesthetically pleasing as the black and orange wild type.

I also have a soft spot for deer. At five years old I fed a stag grapes in open parkland in Belgium, I remember the antlers curving above and around me. I was entirely unafraid, though my parents were a bit concerned to put it mildly. When the grapes were finished the stag just lifted his head and quietly backed away.

  • They are fascinating creatures.  Normally, one "brave" one will come and greet me - and then stay.  Then the others will come over, 1 by 1, then 3 by three.....all jostling for the nearest spot to smear me in their nose juice.   Then, after (invariably way too long for my schedule to allow) I will leave.....and equally invariably, if they can, they will follow me along their field boundary until I'm out of sight.  It makes me feel loved and appreciated.

  • I think cats are my favourite for various reasons. Different breeds all the better. Hence why I have Sphynx.

I also like the Blue Whale. I just feel in tune with them, I don’t know why, I am transfixed when I see them on TV, which isn’t often, as I don’t like ‘wildlife’ programs. I recall researching them as a child. Of course, it was books via endless books back then. Google didn’t exist. Neither did the internet lol
