Can anyone think of noises that really annoy you. I hate rustling crisp packets. It sounds so loud!
Yes, I feel that way too. Mind you, I've reframed it as the bus farting so these days I also have a little inner smile.
Ah, I'm actually fascinated by massive insects. Spiders, however, tap into something else in me and they abound in summertime. I don't mind an occasional bit of DIY but there seems to be certain houses where, as soon as the sun comes out, so do the tools. And I just want to relax in the garden.
To my mind this thread is about sensitivity to noises and not intended to be political. So...- why have you chosen to make it about politics?
- what do you mean by "woke" and why, specifically, would it be bad?
- how do the actual "noises" made differ from those made by those of different political persuasions?
Because there woke and back cancel culture
Because?
Libtards talking liberals or the left. When they talk that really annoys me.
I have quite a few, but to pick one out..
When people have the typing sound enabled so it clicks everytime they press a letter on their device. Instant rage.
I hate those noises as well. They're actually really loud and can be piercing and skin crawling. I find the same when a train does the ssss as it stops. *Shivers*
I had something happen the other day that hasn't happened to me in years: being stood next to a bus when it suddenly did one of those haydraulic brake release 'Tssssss!' noises. I nearly jumped three feet in the air in alarm.
There was a wonderful Doctor Who story -Human Nature/The Family of Blood- where the beautiful music score nearly got ruined by the inclusion of a professional whistler. Fortunately Russell T. Davies stepped in and forbade it. He deserves a medal for that alone!
Whistling is right up there as the very worst for me too. It's shrill anyway, but it often has a forced jolliness to it that feels intrusive.
Yes, summer outdoor behaviour is its own sub-genre of annoying. The power tools thing for sure! Radios on loud with the presumption that everyone will be happy to share their taste in music. Oh, and another summer sound that has me on high alert - buzzing at close quarters. Massive insects abound, and it's not fun. I'm a bit phobic mind you!
dogs barking.
For me, the radio and tv on at the same time. People chewing, busy pubs when voices are overlapping each other. The worst is whistling, it just drives me crazy.
For me the ones that get to me the most are phones ringing, hoover, biting nails sound and clocks chiming. It is really loud for me and just fries me.
I hate when on a mobile phone to someone and they start moving and the movement is so annoying somehow.
Whirring fans or computers, especially in open plan offices.
Plus noisy neighbours partying in their gardens as soon as there's a bit of sunshine. Either that or their power tools starting up intermittently. Either way, they also seem to assume that others won't mind their loud music.
I really need to work on escaping to somewhere quieter.
Phones ringing. Especially old-school ones with that aggressive 'brrrrrng' to them. In films and tv dramas, they often let them ring for ages and it's torture. Bad enough in real life.
Ice cream van chimes. Disgusting. Produces the perfect storm of irritation and a kind of all consuming ennui. Desolate sounding at a distance, intollerable up close.
Cheery whistling. In real life or songs. Detestable.
Oh god yes ha ha. So many noises go right through me!
Like you rustling crisp packets,
The hoover,
People humming,
Anything that buzzes like electronics,
And birds lol I can't stand their singing really makes me uncomfortable.
Clancing dishes. Doing dishes without noise cancelling headphones is phisically painful
