Are you trying to explain a few things to the GenPop?
This article might help

Yes what she is doing is brave and helpful
Think we need more people like her for the publicity.
Yes and instagram. Hannah Quinton. Yes she is pretty.
Is it on a facebook page? Quite a young pretty girl..
It'sworking for me. Maybe try another browser? Or google do i look autistic yet?
Just tried to read this but it seems to be doing something strange??
Just bumping this thread as it seems relevant to current discussion about stereotyping of ASD
Thank you for sharing this article. It's really informative and raises quite a few common issues such as other people's lack of understanding; misdiagnosis or diagnosis as a result of underlying but undetected autism and the fact that autism presents differently in women. I'm quite open with most people since my diagnosis and luckily I haven't had any negative reactions to disclosing my autism. For those that do experience ignorance or negativity when they disclose then articles such as this prove useful.
For what it's worth, I've been open about it with everyone... I treating it as no different to being diagnosed as having diabetes or epilepsy.
I'll either just drop it into conversation if it feels contextually relevant...
"Can you turn your music down please? I'm autistic and have sensitivity to noise..."
"Can you email that to me? I'm autistiac and need time to process information..."
"By the way, I've been seeing a psychologist since the beginning of the year and was diagnosed 3 weeks ago as being autistic - you'd probably be more familiar with it being called 'Asperger Syndrome'..."
So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive from friends, family and work colleagues.
Most common response?
"I'm not surprised..."
Yes I do think labelling is going to be a problem like for poor old Archie in the cartoon (Archie is having a terrible time there). I wonder how people who already know me would react? I just don't know and that's why I am thinking it over.
I really like this simple explanation of 'the spectrum'...
Understanding the spectrum - a comic strip explanation
My pleasure
We need more articles like this and more people prepared to just put it out there.
I'm not quite at that place yet but I hope when (if) I get my diagnosis I will be as brave as her about coming out. It will be interesting to watch people's reactions if I do.
This is a really helpful article thank you.
