Today I've been relaxing by playing music I listened to in the past (my youth!)
Here's one such song (Supertramp: Logical Song) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ukKQw578Lm8
Do reply with a song you liked listening to... we can turn this thread into a virtual jukebox!
Gary Numan / Tubeway Army - Are Friends Electric? & Cars are my choices
I am a huge Numan fan
And he has Aspergers

And what a session this was...
Baker Street
Always loved Gerry. Especially this one. I got it wrong this time... but I'll get it right next time.
Notice how the packets of cigarettes disappear from the piano as the vid progresses...
Get It Right Next Time
I just love it when the organ comes in! Wonderful!
Spending my Saturday afternoon drifting into deep nostalgia, got me round to listening to some Amazing Blondel, a band that blew my socks off when I say them live in the 1970s. Their live act was very humourous, but what they played was so unexpected.
This video will probably be so unexpected to some. Those hippies amongst us may remember the times when there was a much more varied taste in music than there is today. Amazing Blondel supported some of the top acts of the early 1970s and appeared at several festivals. So to give a little taster of what they were like, here they are, recorded in Lincoln Cathedral in 1972:

And a sentiment with which I can only agree...
Let There Be Love
Possibly my favourite Oasis song. And how I feel today. Free...
Whatever
When I want to be transported to some other-worldly place, there is no better way to take me there than to listen to the Mediaeval Baebes. This track is full of mysticism, elves and faeries and sung beautifully. I cannot think of a better way to bring a little tear of happiness to my eyes:

Should of said this is my favourite Christmas song hope you all enjoy it

When I was at school my favourite artists were Simon and Garfunkel after playing my friend's dad's albums. Loved 'Cecilia'. A lad over the road organised the three of us to see them at Wembley when we were 15, stayed with his uncle. Then I saw Art on his own in Manchester and about 10 years ago the pair of them in Buffalo, NY state. We also got to see a free concert by Ladysmith Black Mambazo in a NY park. I believe S&G are having a last tour this year but no money for this. The only other concerts I have been to are The Proclaimers and Gary Glitter (played at our college!). It was odd liking S&G when everyone else in my class was into Gary Numan and Duran Duran .
I have always thought Linda Thompson must be a wonderful person and I just came across this video discography which kind of confirms it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cYqEzIEudqA
This is great. Linda Thompson is one of my Facebook friends. She seems like a nice person

My fave Bowie song.
Hi there Hippy65 I do it by copying and pasting the link to YouTube or wherever else the music is hosted into the post. This means I can only post music that is already online somewhere. I think I might be able to upload tracks to a site somewhere and then link to them but I haven't attempted that yet!
@sunflower good morning too you how do you post music on here I’m using an iPhone and iPad so much good stuff to share with you all
Thank you ) (ah yes The Old Grey Whistle Test, there was NME too, which my brother used to buy and I would borrow. We had some wonderful independent record shops, one of which started as a market stall. I used to love browsing vinyl and buying random records.
Here is another Pete Shelley song which I find hypnotic and relaxing to listen to: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0G8tTjSrm3g&feature=youtu.be
I am glad you enjoy the virtual jukebox. Thanks are due to Disambiguating Cynosure who mentioned in another discussion about keeping threads going. They quickly get lost with so much activity on the forum. ()
Yes sad indeed, I was sixteen when that was on tv, feels just like yesterday. Sat in front of the tv waiting to see who was number one in the hits, there was only one top ten back then.
Top of the pops sold out when the artists were forbidden to play or sing and told to mime.
Some did rebel by making it sooo very obvious they weren’t actually playing it live.
a real shame as it had varied types of artist.
My very best favourite tv music programme was The Old Grey Whistle Test. That had new unknown artists as well as top artists playing one after the other.
Thank you sunflower for waking this fantastic thread up.
It brings joy to so many , me included. () take care.
Sad to hear Pete Shelley has died at such a young age.
Here are the Buzzcocks with Ever Fallen in Love:
