Virtual Jukebox

Today I've been relaxing by playing music I listened to in the past (my youth!)

Here's one such song (Supertramp: Logical Song) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ukKQw578Lm8

Do reply with a song you liked listening to... we can turn this thread into a virtual jukebox!

  • Hey now, little speedy head
The read on the speed meter says
You have to go to task in the city
Where people drown and people serve
    Don't be shy
    Your just deserve
Is only just light years to go
Me, my thoughts are flower strewn
    Ocean storm, bayberry moon
I have got to leave to find my way
    Watch the road and memorize
This life that pass before my eyes
    Nothing is going my way...
  • Better to burn out than to fade away...

    Maybe

    My My, Hey Hey

  • I have both and like them - at least I look me the last four tracks of 50 Words. Irsn I hope she does a new album after these

  • Everybody's talkin' and no one says a word...

    Nobody Told Me

  • Just saw this. I went to the first Whitby ever. Then I visited the Wave Gotik Treffen in Leipzig a course of times

  • I was lucky enough to see the Prodgiy at Knebworth supporting Oasis not my favourite style of music have to say they blew Oasis away awesome live performance Oasis were as dull as ditch water Keith Flint awesome front man .

  • This is wonderful! Perfect 'lazing around on a rainy Saturday morning' music - thank you ()x()

  • I often tune into classic fm and bbc radio 4, the music relaxes me and I find I make my own story to go with each piece I hear, for me it’s like I see a film that fits each piece of music, At times bringing me to tears, once I was so overwhelmed I kept turning it up higher and higher until I could no longer  cope, with tears streaming from my eyes I pulled over my van and had to switch it off to recover myself.

Anyway I hope as you mentioned BACH you may find the link I added recently to your liking, classical and with a Jazz vibe.

  • Only heard today on BBC radio 4, that Jaques louisser had died aged 84.

He introduced many a jazz fan and music listeners  into the world of classical music by adding his own unique jazz style to Music composed by BACH.

If you haven’t heard of him take a moment to listen and it may surprise you and give you pleasure as well.

  • RIP Keith.

An object lesson in not judging by appearances.

A fearsome, angry image... but underneath that, a generous and kind spirit.

He was dyslexic, went through it at school, suffered with depression.

Who knows what led him to take his life?  It can take anyone, anywhere, anytime, regardless of circumstances.

This song was an anthem to me when it came out, and still is in many ways.

I still feel I'm a part of a jilted generation...

    Their Law

  • Ooo I can give a +1 to Supertramp.

Generally nowadays I like chart stuff because I won’t be told what to like by my peer group :-).

  • I'm feeling as good tonight as I've felt for a long, long time.  The whisky may be helping.  But I'm actually looking forward to things for once.

So I thought I'd share one of my favourite songs.

I wish you all well - especially those of you who I know are suffering right now.

    Keep with us. x

    Mr E's Beautiful Blues

  • Saw the Editors live a few times. Great live.

  • I know. I did not really see the point of The Director's Cut though. Reculer pour mieux sauter maybe. I liked the first four tracks of 50 words anyway.

  • She has produced 2 more since Aerial.  Director's Cut and 50 Words for Snow.

  • Love Kate Bush. Hoping she will produce a ninth album.

  • I just listened to A Coral Room - what a beautiful song.

  • Kate Bush's eighth studio album, Aerial (2005) is one of my favourite albums.

Here are two tracks that mean a lot to me personally.

'Somewhere in Between' expresses how I feel most of the time: not quite in one state or another.  It's also about the beauty in special moments and places.  Perhaps the beauty of every moment of life, wherever we happen to be and whatever we happen to be doing, and the conflicting feelings we may have about those experiences: I love this - it won't last. The transcience of emotional states.

    Somewhere in Between

And 'A Coral Room' breaks my heart.  A song, in Kate's own words, about memory and the passing of time; about retreating from the world into a small space in order to focus on those things; and about the emotional value imbued in certain precious objects: holding them and knowing, in a Zen-like way, that one day they will break and be gone.  Like Kate's mother's brown milk jug...

    A Coral Room

  • Dave Gilmour looks much older than the 69 he is here, but the music is still timeless....

    High Hopes live
