Autism Friendly Campsites

Hi,

Does anyone know of any autism Friendly campsites? My daughter is a wanderer and loves to escape so we are looking for a small fenced in site or perhaps a camping/ glamping site with fenced off sections?

Thanks

  • New here, hello! I was thinking of joining the forum and I saw your post so thought I would.

We’ve been using https://www.greenercamping.org  sites recently. They are all small sites (5-10 pitches ish), usually with a lot of open space. Many have wild camping areas.

Paying a bit more sometimes means you can get your own composing toilet and shower for your pitch. Either way it’s the secluded type of camping I love. They often don’t have electric hookup, but all allow campfires.

I’m not sure you’ll find any with fenced in areas, but usually they are on a farm field and many don’t allow car traffic around the site making them a lot safer.

Another way to find small sites is the camping and caravan club, specifically the CS (certificated sites): https://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/campsites/member-only/certificated-sites/. Again they are small sites with few pitches, and a world away from the larger commercial club sites.

Hope you find something and enjoy camping!

  • i dunno i think wildcamping would be better.... its free.... and isolated, the true camping experience, no car park, no flat field, no hundreds of other campers... just you alone, in a forest, no one else, no cars, no infrasturcture, just you and  the wild in your tent. free, no charge... just dont get seen or caught by cops as its apparently illegal to wildcamp unless its scotland.
