We recently sent off the forms to claim DLA after our health visitor advised us to. However yesterday we got the diagnosis of asd confirmed by the paediatrician and I'm wondering if I need to get in touch again to update them of this. If so who do I write to and is it enough to just send a letter or do I need to send the report we got too?
Thank you
I also agree with this and have had two positive experiences with applying for disability benefits due to this. Try and send as much independent evidence as possible in relation to the points you make. This could include highlighted GP notes, a letter from school ...
Hi there, I agree with the previous comments about sending a copy as proof of documentation. That way, you can't go wrong also ensure all is up to date.
Hi,
From my not so good experience with regards to DLA, I advise you to send copies of everything you have that is relevant. Especially a letter confirming a diagnosis.
Good luck
Thank you. I was told it's still dla because of his age? I honestly have no idea how this all works I'm just doing as my hv advised so I hope I've done the right thing.
I'll check out the link thank you
I'd guess it's worth doing, although whether the documentation will be reunited with the application, it's hard to know. Surely it's PIP now? There were some useful sources of support mentioned here recently, besides CABs. I've heard https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/ may be worth asking.
