Just checked the date.  It's 28th of September.

There was a well publicised prophesy that the world would end on the 23 September 2017.

What went wrong?

Perhaps the world did end, and we are now in some parallel universe.  Perhaps we are no longer 'us' but people who behave and look exactly like us so we can't tell the difference.  After all, others only exist because we make them exist, once they are out of sight they are no longer there.  We might be on some sort of holodeck and someone else is playing with us as a game.  Does anything actually make sense?
