The Art of Different Wiring

One of my paintings, titled 'In Between', I wonder what you guys will make of it, be gentle with me, I do have a Masters degree for validation but still not much self confidence.  I think of my work in terms of 'mindscapes' and always have.  Have a feeling this is going to load really small, if at all...

Hope it shows up big enough to see it.

Morning Spotty. I have just been browsing round the threads and I found this one which you may find interesting

    Anyone on here into Art?

    NoodlePoodle

what did you think about the autism trust?

I often go to Open Studios in the local area but I get either hard copy or links to the brochures. I am on the edge of 3 different ones which covers a large area! But I do spend time looking up the websites of those whose work look interesting. Then disappointed if they don't have their work available to see online either on their own website or on "images". So I hope you are able to take advantage of the website idea but imagine it could feel daunting and too much in the spotlight?

  • Thank you Elephant, I've been wondering where you are!  I'm still wading through treacle and I imagine you are too.  Hope you are waving not drowning. x

  • Hope all well with you Spotty....see, your work is really very good! X

  • Somebody wrote the most lovely comment about this painting, saying that it reminded them of the video game 'Machinarium' which I think is absolutely beautiful, or mathematical equations of some kind. For some reason the comment has vanished, I presume they deleted it for some reason. Anyway I just wanted to say a massive thank you to whoever it was and hope they see this, what you saw in my work is exactly my intention so I'm very happy!

  • I will have a look, thanks Misfit.

  • Some great art on there...I like the term artissm as well

  • Thank you for your thoughts, it is always interesting to hear someone's take on abstract art and what they see in it, I appreciate you taking the time to have a look.  The file resolution upload limit is very low as far as I can work out, which is a shame I agree as details are lost and it's all about the details!

https://www.theautismtrust.org.uk/  Have you had a look at this? I don't know if it can be used like an autistic etsy or not but might be worth a try... So many talented people on here.

  • At 567x567 pixels, it's not easy to make out details, but the painting has a coherent shape. The relationships between the thirteen tall, thin figures at the bottom right corner interest me. (I say thirteen, but there may be a fourteenth who's lying down.) My eye is naturally drawn first to those shapes because they look human, but then I notice the resemblance to similar shapes elsewhere in the painting, and the thin black brush strokes in the top left start to look like human limbs.

I see it as the depiction of events during the siege of a fortification, and I like it.

Thanks! Learning things all the time.

  • You should have a more button alongside the reply button and there is the option to delete as well as edit. Maybe it disappears if someone has replied...

Yes! Still don't know how to delete one of these posts! She didn't tell me. And I can't find her question..

  • True, it makes a change! Funny how we all muddle along just about making our technology work for us. (except people like Elephant who know what they are doing).

I saved it and looked that way, the resolution stays more static that way when you zoom. I have a laptop too but find my iPhone quicker and easier to handle. Nice to have positive things talk about too!

  • Thank you Misfit, I imagine it is a bit small on an iPhone. On my phone if I tap the image it makes it a little larger and then you can pinch to zoom in a bit, try it. There is only so much to ne gained though as I had to reduce the resolution so much to upload it the detail is a bit fuzzy.  Really appreciate your kind words.

I like it too but bit tricky on my phone( my working poc!) I like the colour blends. Thank you for sharing it with us

  • I like your inner art critic, very perceptive and thank you!  As you've said before, I believe the 'truth' lies in the cracks between intention, actuality and perception.  Or something like that...

  • My God! Gadzooks! You've woken the Martian! X

  • With my art critic voice finely tuned I would say: "friggin' amazing"..lol. it really draws you in....all of the individual elements each beautifully crafted and if  you let the piece in...you can see that they connect together.,,,you see your amazing attention to detail and I love the tonal nature....you can interpret it as ordered or chaotic.....or a beautifully blended version of both...I like!
