Whats your favourite cake?

I forgot about that. I don't think of it as cake. I think it is in a class of its own. A bit like custard tarts. 

and don't forget a thick layer of home made raspberry jam.

That makes me want to make one right now. Ice cream and cake are a dream duo. I love coffee and walnut cake as I prefer the slightly bitter taste. I also like carrot cake with frosting in the middle and on top.

Coffee and walnut I think.

Poppy cake. I mean european edible poppies not Opium poppies.

Lemon drizzle is quite easy to make which is a bonus for people like me who don’t bake much.

Ooo lovely … although not quite as appealing as a Victoria Sponge but if it was in front of me I wouldn’t refuse. 

I am also supping a tea and have eaten half a lemon Madeira cake. I should feel guilty, but I don’t!

Homemade cakes are definitely best, lemon drizzle is probably top as long as it's more drizzle and not heavy icing, carrot cake (I have a recipe for a carrot apple and raisin cake that's vegan friendly and divine). Fruit cake maybe third.

Fresh sponge from the oven is amazing though. And I had to get a recipe from my mother-in-law to make her bread pudding for my husband's birthday every year as that's his favourite (this isn't bread and butter pudding, it's more like a cake with a meringue top). 

I don't really like icing, so I don't like cupcakes at all which are 50% icing.

Are you the wrong way round or am I?

A fresh cream Victoria Sponge would be lovely right now as I am halfway through a cup of tea. 

Lemon Drizzle for me, second place goes to a chocolate cake. A Victoria Sponge with real cream is also very nice.

Carrot cake is nice too, in fact I enjoy most types of cake except fruit cake such as Christmas cake. 

Homemade cake is so much better than shop bought. I don’t eat cake very often, but I occasionally make something easy as I find baking difficult and I don’t enjoy the process.  

I'm fond of a carrot cake too.

I much prefer home made cakes to shop bought ones, shop bought ones are to sweet and often don't taste of anything much.

Chocolate cake for me too, specifically a moist chocolate sponge sandwich with a chocolate buttercream filling. 

A lemon drizzle cake comes a close second.
