All things Marvel and D.C.

OK, so I'm in my 50s, but this did spin off from the - I feel like not fully grown up/mature - thread.

I love the Marvel films. (I also love the D.C. films)

I've loved Marvel's Spider-man since I was a little boy. I've loved D.C.s Batman for a long time too.

Even though interest is waning in the world, I love the whole shared universe across dozens of films.

I love all the TV shows and spin-offs and am not a negative fan-boy who just likes to slag off any 'wokeness'.

I just enjoy them as entertainment, and think that they do a very good job.

Your turn  (and maybe even  who is probably long-gone, but popped up as a suggestion)

  • I would have loved to have seen that. I have the Oil On Canvas VHS which is that tour.

  • Regarding Japan, I have just looked it up as I couldn't remember if it was 81 or 82 I saw them - they did tours both years, but then I saw that on the 1982 "Sons of Pioneers" tour Masami Tsuchiya played guitar with them and they were supported by Sandii & The Sunsetz , and I then remembered that from the concert I went to - also the tour list includes Bristol, which is where I remember seeing them.

  • I remember that Simpsons episode, Mr Plow. I just loved Adam West's delivery "...pure West". And "why doesn't Batman dance anymore?" before doing a groovy 60's dance Joy

"Mr Plow. That's my name. That name again, it's Mr Plow"

  • If it wasn't for that 60s series, I probably wouldn't be as hooked today.

I remember a Simpsons episode that had Adam West in and he was mocking the modern costumes with muscles built in. He says something like "mine were pure West" Joy

(Not Marvel/DC) When I was banned, I saw you post that you'd seen Japan live. I'm so jealous. Debbie had seen them too. I was a bit too young. Slight frown

  • I'm not a Marvel/DC fan, but I loved the 1960s Batman series with Adam West

na na na na na na na na, na na na na na na na na - Batman!

I also liked the Batman movies, and the X men movie.

  • Good shout I am no longer editing my posts just in case... I couldn't post much yesterday, everything was put in quarantine, sooo I decided to stay away lol so I didn't get banned or put on the naughty step.

Lol thanks for sharing this! I love his costume it looks so dated but somehow still really neat and cool. It's kind of like a low budget Spiderman. I love it.

  • I forgot to say Dad likes Batman aswell. I bought him the movie that I got called literaly called  the lego Batman movie me and Dad find Batman  very funny. I wasnt as keen on Robin as Batman same for with the epesodes but even though Batman is one of my favourate characters I like Robin aswell. by the way I used to watch the fantastic four at one point

I liked the silver surfer .

in recent years Iv watched big hero 6

    guardiams of the galaxy

one of the new things Iv got into is Loki which is based on Marvel

the list isnt complete cause  there is way more than iv wriiten and can possibly write without makeing it too long.  iv got so many interests that I havnt shared yet and  my interests are still developing aswell but this is what other things so far

  • I didnt read  the books as such but I did watch Batman I find the characters backgrounds  and personality development and personalitys interesting and how batman became batman and with Robin how Robin became Robin and how there past shaped the characters aswell as the the storys and the plots in the storys very interesting. Robin was batmans sidekick. with Robin he became an orphen so he was a orphan  but he  took him in. Batman taught Robin and he followed in Batmans footsteps and he showed him how to fight criminals. he often accompanied batman when fighting crime.  but eventualy Robin decided he wanted to follow his own path rather than being  in batmans shadow all the time and do things his own way. eventualy he formed the teen titans.

  • The film was just so feel good. I love that bit as well, she's so bad asssss Grinning It gets a lot of rap but I think it's one of the best. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but that seems to be a thing now, new films tend to get so much hate without people giving it a fair chance.

  • (just checking if I have got myself banned)

  • (I didn't dare edit this post in case I got auto-banned, so adding a reply to my own reply...)

I'm old enough to see Nicholas Hammond play Spider-man on TV in the 1978 TV series!! If you want a little laugh, then have a look at this trailer for one of those films back then (it was a TV series, but often episodes would be edited together to make films for European cinema)

  • I love Captain Marvel. A lot of 'fan boys' were really negative about her. I don't like all that negativity - the films are good escapist entertainment. My favourite bit was when you see the montage of all the time's she'd been knocked down in her life (and gets back up), and also when they play "I'm just a girl" while she's kicking the c * * p out of all those baddies.

  • I love Captain Marvel, I own all the dvds, and I have all the Funko Pops available for it as well.

I still haven't seen the Guardians of the Galaxy films yet. I own them all, just haven't got round to watching them.

  • I love the Marvel films, first one I watched was Spiderman (Tobey Maguire) and have been a fan of the Marvel films ever since. One of my favourites is Captain Marvel but I also love the Thor films.

  • I recently rewatched Batman The Animated Series on Netflix, I used to watch it as a child and now I can appreciate how many great stories it told, with the best voice cast I've ever heard. Of any comics/graphic novels I've read, Batman was the one I got on with best - they just seemed a bit more realistic and more interesting.

  • When I grew up I never read the comics, but I watched the 90's cartoons like Spiderman and X-Men, so a lot of my understanding of the characters and history comes from that period. Spiderman is my favourite and popular with my children too, playing the video games and watching the films.

I used to enjoy the MCU but have found it a bit boring since Avengers Endgame, that just had a very definite finality to it that it didn't really need to carry on. Post that, I did really enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy 3 because that made me actually care for the characters in it, and I found She-Hulk funny even if it didn't really seem that popular.

    What are anyone's favourite films/characters/comics?

  • Deadpool can be funny. I've seen them all, and liked how they got him into the MCU. I loved how they got Chris Evans to reprise his role as the Human Torch and not Captain America.

  • Batman has allways been my favourate character for me. I didnt know you liked batman aswell or thhat batman was your favourate character aswell.  Robin came second for me. I I have a couple of dvds. the lego batman movie. Justice league Gotham city breackout, Scooby Doo and Batman the brave and the bold.I also have  teen titans go the movie I have  watched  the adventures of Batman and Robin aswell.

if I can think of any other interests il let you know. like Iv said before iv got lots of interests. if I think of any marvel aswell as  dc things that I also have other than what iv mentioned so far

there lots of interests I have other than wildlife  that i havnt shared yet this is a good example. things like Marvel and DC is one of those.   your thread reminded me of some of those other interests i have. its hard to think of them all sometimes cause I have so many .

  • I love Marvel as well! I own most of the Marvel dvds, recently just bought the Deadpool trilogy box set. I also own a lot of Marvel comic books some new and some old. Deadpool is my favourite followed very closely by Spiderman.

  • Batman is my favourite DC superhero (There are two main organisations - DC and Marvel). I have seen one of the lego Batman films!
