My husband works at a college where some of the students have SEN. He said one student with Autism likes to have instructions almost shouted at him, he can’t cope with being spoken to nicely. To me this doesn’t sound right?
The student might be hyposensitive / under-sensitive to sound, and be seeking sensory stimulation by only responding when almost shouted at. Or they might be struggling to filter out other noise around them. It might be worth looking into their sensory processing needs.
