Does anyone else find certain activities oddly satisfying? Or rather unexpectedly satisfying? And if so what are they?
Last night I found out you can clean the white soles of my converse shoes with nail Polish remover and it was so satisfying making them white again and seeing the difference.
There is something incredibly soothing about bubble wrap. Most of my parcels are wrapped in brown paper now
This is a very satisfying spice rack. Thank you Roy!
Bubble wrap, sorting socks, naming things
For me it's washing the dishes (my dishwasher gathers dust!) and cleaning. I'm a bit of a clean-phobe anyway but for some reason with that aside I just love washing the dishes and cleaning.
Very satisfying, I'm not ashamed to say.
I’m the same with canned food, I did have my spice jars in alphabetical order, someone has moved them.
I'm a bit like that with spice jars and canned products. They all have to be facing the same way.
I really like arranging the fridge so everything is straight and labels on jars are all to the front and in a perfect line. Eggs must be removed from their box from each end so the box remains balanced. I find ‘deep cleaning’ things very satisfying.
I don't do it as often as I should, but I can find it rather satisfying when I've cleaned my windows (inside and out). It's not the cleaning of the windows I find satisfying, but looking through the windows afterwards and not seeing any streaks or smears.
I'm the opposite, as the feeling of new towels and bath mats is a sensory pleasure for me.
I also hate the feeling of new towels
HATE getting out of the bath and you find the towel is not crispy and bone dry but its a new fluffy one and the bath mat on the floor is also fluffy and you can feel the grooves of the woven material underneath when you step on it...worst sensory nightmare *vomits inwardly*
The things I find oddly satisfying is watching rain fall and hearing the sound of it. Also find going for walks and foraging through the woods behind my house satisfying, seeing things growing and wild, watching the wildlife... Brushing my hair... Probably the most satisfying thing I do because I like the feel and sound of my hair being brushed as the end result is always nice :)
I'm the same r.e. fire. I find it fascinating and oddly relaxing, but in the past it resulted in awkward circumstances and hospital so I leave it alone now and instead read about it online and in books.
Another thing I find oddly satisfying is stargazing. I like to lay on an old blanket in the garden and stare up at the night sky, watching the stars and just feeling at peace with myself and the universe.
I like seeing how fire interacts with different things. Im not allowed to play with fire anymore though after I accidentally caught my sisters hair on fire last month
