What are your favourite song lyrics?
I have so many! But so I don't steal them all straight away and make this post over stay its welcome here's a few of my firm favourites.
"Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me, and the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make a better place for you and for me"
- Heal The World by Michael Jackson.
"Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the stranger)
Ch-ch-Changes
Oh, look out you rock 'n rollers
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
Pretty soon you're gonna get a little older
Time may change me
But I can't trace time
I said that time may change me
But I can't trace time"
- Changes by the legendary David Bowie.
"Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky"
"Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too"
"Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man"
'You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one"
All from Imagine by John Lennon.
One of my most favourite songs and lyrics by John Lennon there. I love the "you may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one..."
All of the above were fabulous and lyrical geniuses in their own way.
In have lots of favourite lyrics but I feel like Metallica’s The Unforgiven was written about me:
New blood joins this earth,And quickly he's subdued.Through constant pained disgraceThe young boy learns their rules. With time the child draws in.This whipping boy done wrong.Deprived of all his thoughtsThe young man struggles on and on he's knownA vow unto his own,That never from this dayHis will they'll take away. What I've felt,What I've knownNever shined through in what I've shown.Never be.Never see.Won't see what might have been. What I've felt,What I've knownNever shined through in what I've shown.Never free.Never me.So I dub thee unforgiven. They dedicate their livesTo running all of his.He tries to please them all –This bitter man he is.Throughout his life the same –He's battled constantly. This fight he cannot win –A tired man they see no longer cares. The old man then preparesTo die regretfully –That old man here is me.
