I thought it might be nice to share our hobbies and interests with each other- we may find something new to try out. Here is my list:
I'm sorry, that was inconsiderate of me. I've been meaning to reply fully and properly, and I honestly don't know why I haven't. As ever, your PM was a pleasure to read, and I really appreciate you answering my question about your book. I think that was part of it, that I didn't want to respond without having assimilated a bit more about that. Sorry!
Mind blown
with transparent Lego you could build a 3D representation of a 4D space
I think my idea would need someone as clever and as capable and as talented as you to actually design it.
I would say - transparent or straight invisible Lego, it would speak to me when I was little, but I had simple hexahedrons instead to play, same size, two colours only, I could build spaceships when I was 6y.o. LOL
Sorry to interrupt, folks. Shard, did you receive my last PM? I'd just like to know how you're doing at the moment, and am a bit concerned (even allowing for the usual Simon-style worrying).
If you can, mate, please drop me a line whenever you have a spare moment, even if it's brief.
Sort of relevant to your No. 1: When I'm watching an old show from the 80s or something, I see a vaguely familiar face, then hopefully remember the actor's name without chetaing, then check what age they were then and are they still alive.
I have no genius to sketch out the details of my latest thought but...wouldn't it be wonderful if there was a Lego edition for autistic children? Typical me - I'm so happy at the thought of something the children might love that I can't figure out how an 'autistic version' would have features which would appeal to them. I just love the thought of them feeling special, and noticed, and not left out.
I remember that too! Around 1980 I think. There must have been a run of Saturday morning repeats, like how they'd show The Monkees or whatever
He's younger than that now, to misquote Dylan
I love that 'when he was old'
Omg Lego is the best :-)
There's the building, but the different colours as well can be fun to organise. There's the Minifigures which you can collect, pose or create a portfolio for. You can videos about Lego. And the history of Lego is super interesting! :)
My mum was a big Lego fan as well. I think that's where my love of it comes from.
These are mine :)
I remembered the Rave Remix of the Banana Splits. Near the end of 1992.
1. Bereavement. I am constantly checking Funeral Times Dot Com for those who passed away. In my country, the Wake was a huge focal point in the community.
2. Brentford FC. They were my Football League Team, before they entered the Premiership. I got into them via the Bluetones.
3. The Simpsons. At least the Nineties episodes.
I am not into Lego now but often used to help my son when younger or do most of it. It is the satisfaction of seeing the completed model. I am very methodical in following the instructions. It's the same with making flat packed furniture. I recently put together a bedside table, starting with laying everything out. (May also be from experience of missing parts. I once put together a futon which then had to wait to finish to replace one screw that had no head).
What do you think about Urtuk - The Desolation or Battle Brothers?
I found a cool channel about Rubik's cubes, all kinds of them www.youtube.com/watch

Even *I* noticed this subtle dig at my age! I'll be over-writing more paragraphs to the high-priced lawyers I found asleep in a chip shop queue about this latest outrage!
Thank you for making it clear that it wasn't the lawyers I had blown my nose on and thrown in the bin, because I think that is something even I would have found hard to forget. If you are able to engage in small talk about double glazing whilst also asking me if I remember The Banana Splits, then I am mightily impressed, and also rather alarmed. Regrettably, I have yet to master the ability to have two conversations simultaneously.
The Banana Splits was broadcast in the UK from 1969 to 1971, but that surely cannot be right as that was before my time... and yet I remember the Tra La La theme song and watching it.

My lawyers wrote to you, sending cease and desist letters; you blew your nose in them and bunged them in the bin (the letters, not the lawyers). Unless you immediately halt this campaign against Lego atheists like me, I shall be forced to threaten you with more small talk about double glazing while asking if you remember The Banana Splits. Anyway, the Lego Witch Trials you organised outside the remains of my house were the last straw.
