Books

That was such a good book! And the sequel novel was equally as good in my opinion, Crooked Kingdom.

My parents would always tell me that I lived in my own little world, especially when I was growing up. Now I'm getting ready to head to college soon so I've been forced to face reality and some trauma I haven't had as much time for it. 

But currently now that things are calm and safe I'm getting back to my old escapism habits that help me cope with the world (but without entirely disappearing into my world this time) and reading has been helping. I'm currently reading Eldest by Christopher Paolini, if you like high fantasy with morals and enemies that are a little too black and white (good v evil is too clear cut when in real life its so much more frustrating and confusing) this is your book. But you've gotta read Eragon first. 

And the best book I've ever read is Sadie by Courtney Summers.

I love reading and prefer actual, physical books. I also like audio books and have a subscription to amazon audible.

At present i'm reading "Awaken the giant within" by Tony Robbins. This is a fascinating book about neuro associative conditioning and personal development.

My next book is "How to raise a happy autistic child" by Jessie Hewitson

I enjoy thrillers but like autobiographies and humorous books.

I love reading and listening to audiobooks, mainly crime, thriller stuff but will read other books if they are recommended.  I used to have loads but now only 1 bookshelf which is mainly non-fiction to do with photography, brewing, electronics, I have just moved and am now 4 mins away form the library so i am reading a lot of physical books now although i do have a lot on Kindle and i have Calibre on my server with around 500 books

The still somewhat current, though becoming outdated, view, is that autistics do not like fiction. I think that this may apply to some, but certainly not all people on the spectrum. I think fiction is really very useful for autistics. Because fiction often deals with social situations and describes the inner thoughts and emotions of characters, it allows the autistic person to explore these things without the potential difficulties of real-life interactions. I think my fiction reading has helped me enormously to understand other people and how society works.

Fiction wise I'm currently reading lots by Harlan Coben at the moment having watched and loved a few of the shows that were written/adapted for Netflix.

I also really enjoy non-fiction, particularly science-y type stuff. a few favorites recently have been one about Game Theory, and a couple by Johann Hari - Lost Connection (about depression) and Stolen Focus (Why I/we have the attention span of a goldfish). 

If I find a book that really interests me I will sit there and read until I've finished it, It's a really nice bit of escapism

I love to read! I own hundreds of books mostly on my kindle though I do own a few hardback and paperback books as well. 

I enjoy all different books, sci-fi, murder mystery, comedy, horror... I read most nights before bed for an hour or two, longer if I am really in to the book.

I just checked, and I have 415 books on my Kindle. I moved to the Kindle for fiction, because I cannot fit any more books in the house. I had about 800 physical books the last time I checked, quite a few are still up in the loft from when we moved in 12 years ago, sadly.

Omg I love reading! I must buy at least 2 books a week. I currently have 380 books. I’m currently reading Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. So far it’s really good.

I am reading the Philip of Macedon biography for the second time, so I think I must have enjoyed it. If asked what my favourite book is, I always answer 'Treasure Island', by Robert Louis Stevenson. I first read it aged seven and it is what turned me on to reading fiction.

They sound interesting books to read. I usually read the same sort of books, I try to be a little more adventurous but can never seem to change the type of books. I will Google the ones you have said and who knows maybe I might try one... 

How are you finding the biography? My older sister reads a lot of biographies. 

Yes, I love reading, both fiction and non-fiction. I recently read 'The British Museum is Falling Down' by, David Lodge, which is comical and each chapter is a pastiche of the style of other authors. I'm now reading 'At Swim-two-birds', by Flann O'Brien, it does not have a standard plot structure and I'm not sure as yet, whether I like it. However, I'm a big James Joyce fan, so strange plots are not new to me. In non-fiction I am currently reading a biography of Philip of Macedon, the father of Alexander the Great.
