I’ve got a German Shepherd, Zeus from 7wks old he’s now 5+ :-)
it was a GP suggestion. I got one,. Amazing
he’s fully trained to respond to sign signals.. he still has his dangly bits and very obedient for me :-)

I thought this too when my daughter went through a phase of watching "cute" parrot videos on youtube. I phoned a bird sanctuary to find out if we could visit and help care for the birds since I can't have them due to allergies and my belief that it's cruel to keep them in cages for our own ends.
The lady explained that they are beautiful birds but that they make horrendous squawks most of the time and are not like the "youtube" cutesy videos. She kindly sent us a stuffed toy parrot who takes pride of place at the bottom of my daughters bed, unlike the real ones, he doesn't bite. :-)
