What does ‘lucky’ mean in this context? Is this something you would say to someone you care about?

‘We are also lucky to have you as a friend. I hope that you know you have lots of people who are there to talk to you in times of need :)’

    That’s a nice thing to say, we are lucky, means we are fortunate to have you as a friend, you are s great friend snd they feel blessed / happy that you are their friend.  That’s a kind thing to say and I would say something back eg “thank you for being there for me and if ever you need me I will be there for you too.  We are lucky to have each other.
