What Movie are you unable to watch all the way through or have deliberately avoided?

I'm a big fan of the original Back to The Future film.   I think it's perfect in every way (for its time) and it leads you gently through the story, dropping all the information you need so it's simple to follow.

I've watched it many, many times and I've seen the 3rd one a few times as well although I'm not a fan.

I've NEVER seen the second film.   I can't do it.   I cannot engage with it - something puts me off no more than 20 minutes in.   I can't even be bothered to read the Wiki-spoiler to see how it ends.

I just don't care for it.

So what classic films have you NEVER managed to make it to the end?

  • Absolutely no musicals or films with people singing in them with an exception of 3 films.. the wizard of Oz.. grease and Annie.. strangely enough I can't watch haribo adiverts either.. think it's something to do with adults pretending to be kids.. "why would you" I don't get it.. just had a thought.. are there any musical syfy movies..?

  • just had a thought.. are there any musical syfy movies..?

Earth Girls Are Easy is a musical sci-fi film - Geena Davies & Jeff Goldblum - before they did The Fly together.

  • I'll see if I can download it just to see if because it's sci-fI can watch it.. virtually everything I watch is sci-fi.. do you have any similar percular restrictions..lol..

  • Alex de la Iglesia wrote and directed Acción Mutante, Almodovar was one of the producers. Good film.

Euro horrors are underrated. Martyrs, Frontiers, and Funny Games make a lot of mainstream horror look tame.

I 've never been able to watch the remake of The Vanishing or Spoorloos. The Dutch one was horrific at the end. Apparently the Hollywood version was changed.

As for Irreversible. It's Noé's masterpiece. The sound design alone makes you feel sick, not a horror as such but very, very disturbing and sad. I'll never watch that again.

    European films do disturbing well.

After Lucia is a Mexican film about bullying, and revenge. The ending was bone chilling, nothing over the top, but it was so believeable and final, I've never watched it again.

Latin America can do disturbing well too.

I like my foreign language films! Apologies!

  • Haha.. I've just realised I'm posting the exact opposite of the topic of this post.. oops.. off track again..

  • I'm more star wars and back to the future person and now you've mentioned the fly tho I'm going to have to watch it.. the late 80s were a great time for movies and the fly was great.. always reminds my of predator released a year later.. looks like a full day ahead..

  • If you like sci-fi comedy, then the weirdest films you will ever see are Accion Mutante by Pedro Almodovar  from 1993 and The Delicatessen from 1991.

Both foreign language/subtitles but well worth the effort.
